From a symptom standpoint during the peak, this year’s flu was probably worse than covid (alpha) for us as well, but there is no question that covid resulted in a unbelievable number of long term issues for a lot of people- even those seemingly healthy.

I've heard from a few friends, family, colleagues that this flu has been worse than their covid experiences, whether C19 or Flu vac'd or not.

I’m actually down closer to 15 then 10… so there is hope! Can fit into clothes I haven’t worn in many years lol. Only benefit I suppose. But ####, would still not recommend.

Laryngitis was how mine started. Took 2 weeks to get back to being able to talk without my voice sounding like the dying wheeze of a buffalo.

Got all the rest of that filthy mcnasty a day or so later.

We've spent the last 3 years in a pandemic - who would have ever guessed that in 2022 something would hit that would take most of us out harder than Covid did. Oh the craptasticness of it all.

In the last year, I've had Covid and 2 colds. The two colds were easily worse for me than my covid bout (omicron and I was vaccinated a couple of months prior), but I do acknowledge that not everyone's experience has been the same. I also believe that vaccination, though it didn't prevent me from getting COVID, got me through it quite unscathed (my symptoms lasted all of 3 days).

There seems to be stock available here for the time being. Expensive though.

That is predatory pricing if I've ever seen it.

Covid is the only thing where I have had the pure exhaustion after symptoms were gone where it took a week to get back to normal. My symptoms during Covid were mild compare to Flus and colds but recovery was a lot longer.

My chest cold cold is hanging onto me like the Fatal Attraction you meet in a bar that won't leave you alone. Sneezing and coughing is gone but the congestion is still there along with the sweats

We need to just redefine 'Health.'

If you've had a sore throat for 2 months thats just your new normal now. That is now what is considered healthy.

If you lower your standards then everything becomes okay.

Found this an interesting watch on long covid in the US. People should still be cautious even if vaccinated.

Estimated cost to the US economy of $3.7 trillion. Estimates of up to 4 million people unemployed as a result of long covid, which is around 2% of the employment aged population in the US.

Link to the document with the rationale behind the cost estimate.

So remember how some people proclaimed covid "is no worse than the flu!" This flu season we've had 6 deaths. If we just look at covid deaths from Oct 1 until now, it's 276. I think we can put that myth to rest.
