All this cloud is pointless if it's not actually raining good.

Either be cloudy and rain, or be clear and sunny. Not just grey and cold.

Was in Lethbridge this weekend and things are really dry down there and they are getting the same cloudy weather with no rain. It's kind of strange to see so many cloudy days without much in the way of precipitation.

my entire neighborhood's lawns suck, either full of brown patches, thin and weak, or dandelion factory. wonder how much of that is weather related.

Man, this sucks. I was really looking forward to at least a day or so of good rain. We got teased it this weekend, but nothing. And today was nothing but the blue balls equivalent of it. Grey all morning and into the afternoon, and not a lick of rain. I guess I'll have to finally bite the bullet and go water my lawn this evening. It's looking real dry.

So that was on Saturday. It is almost Friday. About 100,000 people still without power. Ice is almost impossible to find in the city. My power came back yesterday, so I filled 2 dozen sandwich bags and 6 freezer bags with water (well 2/3rds filled; any more and the bags explode).

The 2018 tornados were bad, but the damage was localized. This knocked over power lines all across the city. Ottawa Hydro said that putting up 250 new poles is something they usually do in 6 to 8 months. They are trying to get it done in a week.

Yeah, this is shaping up to be a horrible summer. You can't get through spring with almost no rain without disastrous consequences. It's just insane how may days we've had of "maybe rain" that turned into crappy days with next to no rain.

Unless June unleashes a good two weeks of constant rain, this is very bad.

Weather network is calling for significant rain this weekend. Is this to be believed or is it more BS?

According to the summer forecast it's supposed to be slightly warmer than average summer for southern Alberta with near normal precipitation. Northern prairies and southern Ontario are supposed to get above normal precipitation. Seems like it's just a matter of where you reside but the summer in general looks pretty average for most of the country.

I have calmly...but carefully...put my snowbrush away.

I backed away from it slowly, threw some salt over my shoulder as I left and have it stored next to my Jobu idol.

Significant? EC is just saying 60% showers on sunday, so no real substantial rain.

Funny thing I find about Calgary weather. As a guy that frequently checks the weather to gauge when I can wash my car I find that in the winter 30% chance of snow <1 cm nearly always equals 100% chance of snow and <1 cm especially in the NW. In the summer a 30% chance of rain nearly always equals 0% rain.

You just happen to always live in the one spot in the forecast region that is the reason for the percent chance in the first place. You are at 90%, we are at 10%. You get all our hopes up, your fault.

Yeah I think it's overnight/tomorrow when it really hits. If we somehow make it through Tuesday and it doesn't come, I'm just going to assume it's never going to rain in this city ever again.

I don’t bother checking the forecast anymore. Meteorologists are incompetent in this city.
