I'm not sure how it's trolling. It's pretty clear the goal here isn't for him to become the next Dawn Braid.

I think we should make this a thing

It would be funny if she was an amateur figure skating champion and you didn’t know. And the you tried to teach her how to skate haha

I wanted to fire off a quick thank you for all of the advice, the tips and the laughs! I have seriously enjoyed reading each and every response!

I think I got this with some of the tips and how best to show her a great time. I don't want to over think it and hope it goes smooth.

Wish me luck! Hopefully the weather holds up a few more days cause this upcoming cold snap may just kill the idea.

Think about it. And fix your vibe. The vibe is off.
I think the vibe is bang on when you read some of the other posts in this thread.

Was that really necessary?

How about some tips if the date isn't so cute?

yes I realize I talk like an old timer .. but the wisdom is sound , I assure you

he wants this to be a date after all , not lessons with her platonic Canadian friend
FWIW you don’t come across as an old timer imparting wisdom. You kind of sound like you’re about 19 and trying too hard to impress. PF is right, it reads really cringey.

I actually think a situation like this one (people from different continents) is a good reason to do a destination wedding.
