I saw Amon Amarth in Spokane last year and they put on a really good show. Not a big Cannibal Corpse fan so not sure if I will take this one in.

Ashes of the Wake is one of my top 5 albums. Not sure if its worth the cost to get floor seats, knowing that sitting in the stands sucks.
edit 328.90 for floor seats. Ya right!

Looks like that's for VIP experience-type earlybird seating. Regular prices look to be about $80-$90 all-in.

I've grown to really like Mastodon but Lamb of God are in the Godsmack/Five Finger Death Punch/Disturbed category for me. Randy is great though, smart guy.

I can see your point> More recently that is 100% the case.
I wouldn't watch them support a new album.
However, everything before Wrath holds a place in my heart.
We also disagree RE: Randy, who strikes me to be a real Neil Young. His Vietnam was Iraq. After the conflict ended his social commentary was less in tune.

Don't really follow them much, but saw LOG open for Metallica in 2009 and they were great- pretty awesome heavy double bill with Mastodon

I’m too lazy to start a Calgary events thread. So it’s going here.
Saw the Steve Martin written Meteor Shower at theatre Calgary. Those of us in our 30s liked it and thought it was pretty funny but those in our group in their 20s didn’t get it at all. It’s basically an 80 minute long SNL sketch that takes place in 1993 so that wasn’t exactly surprising. I was satisfied spending $40 to go see it. Not amazing but made me laugh enough to feel worth it.
Took a bunch of edibles and went to Mirror Mirror at chinook by Moment Factory. There’s nine rooms. It was $26. I’d say 3 rooms were ok, 3 were meh but 3 were pretty cool. Probably more suitable for stoners or children but a fun way to kill an hour. My only advice is don’t go at a peak time. It’s best experienced with the less people around the better.

I didn't know they were in town. Saw them a few times back in the day. Al wore a Flames jersey the last time.

That was my first time seeing them, but I've loved them since I was a kid. They were amazing.

Haha, yes. We listened to six or seven of their new songs and then they complimented us for being "good little doggies, so here are your treats." Then it was non-stop rad songs off The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, The Land of Rape and Honey, and Psalm 69.
