Isn’t Jansen projected to be in the lineup? What’s going on there?

Back up catcher, but I imagine he and Kirk will be darn near a 50/50 split behind home plate assuming both are healthy and performing as expected.

And not only that but if you sit out Belt you're losing a LHB.

Kikuchi’s been great, so far. 7 IP, just 1 hit, 9 K’s

If Yusei can find his way this year, Jay's will be in a much better spot. Not having to write off every 5th game or wondering how to plan out the bullpen would be nice.

All the starters to me have question marks atm. Manoah and Bassits velocity are down, Gausman has to learn how to pitch with the new timing rules enforcing stop on the rubber, Berrios is still Berrios and Kikuchi well we saw him last year. So lots of question marks. I think White and the guy they got from Pittsburgh are next and then Hutchison.

Both Berrios ad Kikuchi had disappointing years based on expectations so I'm expecting both to be better.

Bassitt has said that he’s purposefully throwing with less velocity to maintain durability this season.

92 to 89 is a pretty big drop. I guess if you can do it sure but at some point your velocity is just not going to be enough to fool major league hitters.

Yeah, it’s really interesting to me though that a guy like Mark Buehrle (there have been others who were similar) was able to have such a great career with a fastball that topped out at what? 87 or 88 mph?
Fascinating.

Greg Maddux is the best example of this. I think topped out at low 90s early in his career and during his peak years was sub 90 for the most part.
But he knew how to pitch.
