Covid Jersey Vote - Best #2 Flames History
This one should be obvious.
Still chaffed that they haven't righted the wrong and have #2 in the rafters.
This one is funny in that they pretty much persuaded others to not where the number by the looks of it. Almost nothing other than a Commodore cup of coffee.

Something I learned not too long ago — MacInnis actually broke into the NHL wearing 22.

It still shocks me on just how many superstars the flames had in their prime era 30 years ago.

I'm really curious about who's gonna win #3. I might have to vote Dion.

MacInnis had a better career as a Flame then he did as a Blue, but seems like- outside of Calgary, and even here they blew the messaging- this will never be properly acknowledged
yes when he first game up he was a defensive basket case with a hard shot, but that was rectified fairly early on.. at 21 he was a good regular, and by 85-86 he was great but his reputation took a while to catch up

MacInnis was not just the best #2, one could make a strong argument that he was one of the top 1-2 players to ever wear the Flames jersey.

The Forever a Flame program was a Ken King thing. I wonder if we'll see that program retired, and those numbers finally also retired?

I’ve said it before, but there should only be two numbers retired by the franchise, #12 and #2.
A jersey retirement should be for exceptional players only. All due respect to great players like Fleury, Lanny, Vernon, Neiwy, etc. Personally I like the forever a flame program as it recognizes franchise greats but doesn’t overdo it with a jersey retirement.

I'm just curious if there ever was a number that was super close between two players what would happen? A run off?

Forever a Flame was an Al McInnis thing, because he did not want to be retired here if he could not commit to be a solid member of the teams alumni group. I think Joe had similar sentiment. But with history #2 had with the flames they just wouldn't letup on the idea of honouring him.
