That's fine work by Denis in just over an hour as he takes out Lajovic 6-1 6-3. He has made a run to the semi-finals in Madrid previously.

It's funny, we don't like it when Felix and Shapo face each other early in a big tourney, but the plus side is at least one of them will advance to the next round which is better than both of them being eliminated. Bublik beats Denis 6-4 5-7 6-4
