Sinner breaks Rafa to start the match - Not showing any nerves thus far.
Edit: Nadal breaks right back. Hold on to your butts.

That's a big hold by the young Italian saving some break points to stay alive in this opening set.

It's a shame this match is occurring so early in this tourney because this has final quality written all over it.

The most impressive thing to me about Sinner is when he hits a bad shot, he just seems to forget about it and then proceeds to hit a winner on the very next point. He's as cool as a cucumber out there.

Honestly, I was hoping for a third set - That said, Rafa was pushed hard by Sinner today.

Honestly, given that Nadal can't get the #2 seed at the French, I would be okay with Shapo winning so he could gain confidence and get his career back on track.

facing Rafa on clay is not exactly in the same ballpark as playing against the Flames when it comes to improving your confidence after a long unproductive streak.

Just an aside, but the FOI forum is a pretty toxic place these days which makes this sanctuary even more important for my mental well-being.

I can fix that...our overrated, unclutch Canadian ATP players have disappointed for years and I'm done with them all
Raonic - one-trick bomb serve pony that fluked his way to a Wimbledon final, done nothing since
Pospisil - not talented enough, barely notice him most tournaments
Shapo - spends more time on his rap career than fixing his brutal unforced errors
Felix - chokes every final, not even the coach of a GOAT can get him to stop double faulting
Polansky - LOL
I will probably die before I get to see a Canadian mens player lift a major trophy. not gonna spend a penny more watching these losers. burn it to the ground and rebuild with new talent.

Rafa gets one of those breaks back.
Edit: Denis won the first four games, Rafa has won the last three.
