At least with reserved seats you can come late if you want. Previously coming 10 min late sometimes meant getting split up and getting the worst seats.

And we’d be getting paid to watch network tv or sports.

When it's just perfect rows of perfectly spaced generic lights that all you did was hand off to some dude on a crane you've never met... it just feels so sterile and lifeless. Like how Walmart gets their Christmas lights put up. It has no life, it doesn't say anything about you or your personality... it's just Christmas lights for the sake of having them.

Anyways, that's all. Weird post, lol.
I mean, I kind of like looking at these impressive lights displays. It’s a big part of the Christmas season for me.

But I have respect for the homeowner who gets out there and cares enough to string their own lights. I have great memories of helping my Dad with that every year.

So I totally hear you.

I don’t know. I put up lights every year, but this year we got the permanent LEDs, and frankly they’re awesome. Perfectly straight for the OCD side of things, dozens of patterns and options, and they look really nice. What’s not to like?

What the hell? My kids argue every year over who has to go out in the cold and help.

comes across as sterile with no heart. sure it's nice, but that's about it.

I'm with outofthecube

I like the sort of tacky displays people put up, or lights not hung straight.

Has more christmas spirit.

I've heard the theatres don't make much off the actual movie tickets anymore, at least for new releases, so they need the ads and concession.

Needing new skates grinds my gears.

I mean they are roughly 18 years old but comfortable AF.

I confronted a guy for not picking up after his dog today in front of Branton. That really GMG. He gave me some story about how he was going to get a bag. I don't believe him but what can I do about it?

To me this isn't the same as the professionally hung Christmas lights. These LED's are awesome and aren't really cheating IMHO, it seems many people with these still augment their yard with additional lights - by the homeowner.

Speaking of lights grinding people's gears, my Alexa has suddenly decided that it doesn't work with any smart device anywhere in my house. All of them work fine, but Alexa just won't connect to anything.

It's amazing how annoying it is when the small things you're used to working suddenly don't. I have to use a lightswitch?! How dare you?!

Which I do/did. We have a Grinch display that we put up and I like that. But the LEDs do save me from the ladder and then the eventual take down. The thing is, I could always pick a relatively warm day to put things up, but the take down was less of an option. And no, we aren't leaving ours up all year or for months on end. There should be a bylaw fine for that kind of thing!

I do like the idea of the LED lights, and to be able to set the colors for whatever the holiday is, or whatever your whim is.

glad Slava also has some other decorations.
and I will say I'd rather see the LED lights 100 times over some guy putting out a $20 Canadian tire spotlight and calling it a day.

Imagine a non-dog owner just carrying #### bags around for inconsiderate dog owners. What a world...

I actually have some dog poo bag holders I can sell if anybody is interested. They're a little cylindrical bag with a zipper and a Velcro loop to attach to your leash. They're embroidered with "#2 Solution". I think I have a couple hundred left. If you're interested, I'll sell 'em for $10 each including shipping w/i Canada. You keep your own plastic bag inside, pick up the poo, then put the poo-filled plastic bag back in the #2 Solution until you get to your neighbour's garbage can.

The nice thing is then you're not walking around like a disgusting pig with plastic bag filled with #### everyone can see and get grossed out by. It's hidden in the #2 Solution.
