Used S7's are starting to get in a pretty reasonable price range relative to MSRP.

Nik, gotta be very weary, of those turbos' on both the S & RS (4G8). An amazing car, but due to a poorly engineered filter in the oil feed lines, to the turbo -- they can go dry, and crater the motor. Threads on audizine/6speed.

Why not an S-Line A7, with a flash?

I have never experienced any of those issues with the RS7. But those turbos sure supply some torque! Then add an Akropovic exhaust, and it's a beast.

(And I haven't been to Audizine in a long time, but never saw a thread on that.)

Christ, Akropovic is the best. Your new machine looks deadly, and I'm envious.

I'll let you keep that case of beer for your RS7 too.

In terms of the failures, yep majority haven't had a problem -- but of those that do, $30k+

Of this small sample; 251 without issue, 102 did.

Yeah I know about that issue, the same thing affects the S6 since it's essentially the same car, but it's heard about a lot more often than it actually happens. I think the actual rate is sub 15%

Akropovic's are awesome, but on other people's cars haha.

Yeah it's across the 6,7,8 lines and in Bentley's too.

Honestly, I shouldn't detract further from Enoch's car, because it sounds like a helluva specimen. I'm just frugal and drive Volkswagens.

I don't think it detracts. Anyone who knows the car knows about that problem and you don't often get a ton of "just open autotrader and search for used car" bites on an RS7.

Hey, no worries - discuss away. And I want to know what the perceptions of the vehicle are, because I will be looking to sell it when the GT arrives.

Also, did they abandon the vegan interior idea for the etron GT? Were you able to get a proper interior?

They didn't abandon it - it's available as an option.

But I got a proper interior.

Ok that's cool. Having it as an option is fine, but their initial intent was to only offer it. An RS at that price point with that fabric interior just doesn't seem right. Do they have alcantara headliner as an option?

Yeah, if all they had was the vegan interior, I likely would not have ordered one.

There aren't a lot of options for the first year (though you can still go Audi Exclusive if you want), and the roof can be entirely glass if you want (I wanted), but there is still a fair bit of alcantara throughout the cabin.

Ahh. Well I'm excited for you for your car.

Saw an RS6 in person last night, it was as sexy as I had hoped. Out of my budget but dang I still have a thing for wagons. It was downright filthy and parked in front of Shoppers in my neighborhood, nice to see it being used as a daily.

Had it been available then, I would have gotten the Avant instead of the RS7. Almost everyone I know thinks that would have been a bad idea and that I'm crazy for thinking a wagon is sexy.

What are everyone's thoughts on lease buyouts at the end...

The residual on my wifes SUV is considerably less than market (Auto |Trader / Kijiji) right now.

Same vehicle / trim level / approx kms...

Worth it to buy it and flip or use as a trade in on something else ?

Just so Sliver can jump in...Its a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV.

If you're confident that you could get more than the residual by just posting it on Autotrader then... yeah. Seems like a no-brainer.

What are our thoughts on buying a car for a good deal and selling it for more? Go for it. You can always list it while it's still on lease and gauge the response. If it looks like it'll go without trouble, buy it out. If you have it listed and nobody wants it, well, good thing you didn't buy it out.

I have done this with a Tacoma. Bought it out after the lease was up and made five or six grand.

There are several options at the end of your lease, especially if you have equity. Keep in mind, you will have to pay GST on the balance of buy out should you choose to buy it out. Trading it back in to the same Manufacturer, is a way to capitalize on the equity AND avoid the GST. Take the equity back in cash, or use it towards money down on the new one. I do this often with my trucks as the used truck market is crazy and has been for the last 5 years now. You can also buy out your lease anytime you want, you don't have to wait until the contract expiration.
