Who Are You Voting For (2021 Edition)?
I'm not huge into politics, and didn't want to talk about the day to day political discussion from the thread, but thought it would be interesting to hear:
-what people's opinions are about the parties themselves?
-each individual party leader?
-reasoning for making their decision?
My personal view on how I'm voting - not so much what's good for me, but good for the economy as a whole.
Liberals, I'm not happy with Trudeau's scandals, but do appreciate his view on human rights. He's a mediocre leader at best, and his lack of education scares me.
Jagmeet and the NDP I'm not sure what they stand for. He seems to have easily the highest education but can't take a stance on anything, and seems to be more liberal than the Liberal party itself.
Conservatives I think have a good move this year. In a year where spending will have to be curbed in the next few years, I think I'm leaning to them as the best party. Erin O'Toole just doesn't seem like an intelligent guy, and so he'll be leaning on his people to provide him advice.
Each party is really making a mistake with their leadership and I'll be voting the best of the worst this year with O'Toole. I am concerned about how they'll treat the little guy down the road though, as I don't want them bending over for corporate interests.

She'll be a great representative for this part of the city.

I really liked him as Councillor and think he did a lot for the community outside of City Hall, such as organizing community clean-ups every year. I'm a little disappointed he's not running for council again, but I would be happy to have him as my MP.

I only see a Green Party candidate listed for Calgary Confederation.
That can't be right.

I read they don't need to be listed until August 30, so maybe check again next week?

Kmiec (CPC), best case scenario for me is a conservative minority. The liberals and NDP would keep any radical conservative ideas from getting passed. Worst realistic case scenario would be a liberal majority.

Until the CPC gets an electable leader they are winning anything. Scheer was awful, O'Toole isn't much better.

Undecided
I'm usually Liberal, but can't stand Trudeau.
Conservatives actually seem decent for once but I need to do more research and have not voted for them before.
NDP are too far left for me, but I think Jagmeet is the best of the leaders.
If I had to choose today, I'd probably say Conservatives but still making up my mind. None are clear winners to me.

Barring some form of divine intervention during the campaign, I’m not voting for O’Toole but with that being said he is way better than Scheer. It’s not even close.

Len Webber, Confederation.
... I should say that's my current view; I am actually open to being convinced otherwise but I just don't see how I can support any of the other parties.

I'm not voting for Kmiec, he sends me garbage like Defund the CBC pamphlets, and votes for conversion therapy. Haven't decided what I'll do.

This will be the first election in a while that I'll be voting for the party regardless of my local candidate. I can't support Trudeau and the Liberals (voted for them the first time and sat out the last one).

I don’t want to be defeatist, but l think Nose Hill is pretty much a wash. Candidates are pretty weak; expecting more 4 more years of Rempel.

Can't vote NDP or Green - their platform do not align with my core beliefs
Can't vote Liberal. They are nearly as bad in terms of policy as the NDP and their arrogance and incompetence is staggering. They have caused so much division and damage to this country, it is almost unforgivable.
CPC - probably fall closest to my core values although but they have also been a huge disappointment, in articular during the Harper years - such a wasted opportunity.
There really is no party that promises to deliver on things most important to me so in many ways none of them represent me. I may do what I have done in the past and vote for an independent if there is one. Mostly as a protest to say nobody deserves to win from the main parties. If it were a close race then it would be CPC to keep out the Liberals

I outright dismissed O'Toole based on my first impressions but he's not as bad as I first thought. No a high bar. It bothers me how Singh will sell himself out to the Libs so easily.

This should be blue to keep red in check, fearful what LPC will do with a majority. NDP wont do it or Bloc.
