It's getting harder and harder to believe coach Q knew nothing. And that's where the rubber's gonna meet the road. So far it hasn't affected anyone who is otherwise excellent at their job.

I should have commented earlier. I’m glad they spoke out and shone a light on it. The Blackhawks seem to be doing everything they can to dismiss this and sweep it under the rug.

Kane claims he did not know at the time.

https://www.tsn.ca/patrick-kane-chic...ions-1.1694746

Quote:
Blackhawks star said Friday he has participated in the investigation into allegations that a then-assistant coach sexually assaulted two players in 2010, adding that he did not know anything happened at the time.

“Obviously very serious allegations, and everyone knows that,” Kane said at the annual NHL/NHLPA preseason player media tour. “But I will say that I didn’t know anything about it at the time and did participate with the investigation.”

Kane's comments were his first since the allegations came to light. The Blackhawks launched the investigation led by a former federal prosecutor and pledged to release the findings.

The three-time Stanley Cup champion said he also was unaware of homophobic bullying of one of his former teammates that ensued.

“Obviously disturbing,” Kane said. “You never want to hear that type of stuff. I feel for (someone making) those type of allegations. And hopefully it didn’t affect the player too much. But I’m sure when you’re hearing that type of stuff, obviously it could affect you deep down.”

These guys should just issue a no comment. In such an insular group you don’t think each one of the players knew? Can’t say I’m buying the “I wasn’t aware” line from any of them when their own players have stated everyone knew. Patty K must be scared in being in bad books with management or ownership.

I trust Patrick Kane as far as I can throw him, he loses alot of credibility after a rape case was dropped against him in 2015, and after he assaulted a taxi cab driver, what a loser of a hockey player, and shame on TSN for even getting quotes from him given his past.

Between the Hossa rash, the alleged Kane rape and a team wide cover up against a sexual assault, what a complete joke of a franchise, the clearly put winning ahead of human decency

Players in the league allege they were not aware, while players no longer in the league say they were aware. That's as telling as the disturbing story.

Focus should be on Staff and Management, you can point at hockey culture but is those in power that have the need to be held accountable when they know whats going on and sweep it under the carpet.

It puts Kane in a tough spot. He is still being employed by the organization being accusing of covering up these allegations. Even if he did know as we all suspect, could we really fault him for saying exactly what he did? This isn't on the players like Kane.

Why not just refuse to comment on an ongoing issue?

Refusing to comment presumes that you have knowledge versus strictly just saying you didn't know about it. In the court of public opinion anyways

Executive(s) and head coach, yes. It is a bit of a weird dynamic for most other staff/coaches earning 5-6 figures compared to players earning 7 figures.

“No comment” is quickly forgotten by the public.

So... what's going on in this thread? He said "I didn't know" and anyone to weight in basically said "I don't believe you".

Nah, it just means you want to stay out of things.

Saying “never heard about it” has the disadvantage of being proven false, or making you look stupid.

At times, Carrillo reading is tongue in cheek. But, this Twitter thread reinforces the Hawks org as poison. Blatant disregard for Montador.

I don't expect them to do this, but I really hope they publicly name everyone who knew about what was going on and did nothing. Players, coaches, management, the mascot, I don't care. Anyone who knew this was happening and did nothing is guilty.
