Default recommendations for Skunk removal

So last night 5 baby (adolescent) skunks and the mother skunk strolled into my garage while i was having a beer with the neighbor. Luckily no-one or the dog was in there.

after some investigation I found that their den is under my neighbours house 3 doors down.

I'm going to go talk to him after work to have these skunks removed but was wondering if anyone had a contact for a reasonably priced skunk removal person.

I have no particular contact, but when I had this issue a few years ago I used Peregrine Pest Control and they were good. They trap and remove the skunks and then take them outside the city to be released.

I think Cowperson does this. Or at least he likes skunk removals or something like that.

Is there anywhere to rent skunk traps? People want $300-$700 to get rid of them. I'm in the wrong business

I’m in the country, so my strategy was a little different. My plan was just to make my porch seem less attractive than the millions of dens they could hang out in the forest. I had good luck with using Critter Ridder at the entrance of where they were getting in and shining a light under the porch all night. After two nights, the skunk decided that life under the porch wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and found somewhere else.

I have a trap as well, but there was zero chance I was taking the risk of getting sprayed without trying the gentle eviction attempt first.

I suggest burning your neighbours house to the ground, just to be sure. You are just fortunate they didn't pick your house!

Just make sure you keep the babies with the mother. I used to work as a Ranger and some of the parks I patrolled had seasonal campers who would get skunks under their structures and I would trap them and relocate. I would be glad to help you out except that whole different province thing. If you trap them once they are in the live trap throw a blanket over it before trying to move so you don't get sprayed.

Is it likely if one Skunk gets trapped they will all go in to see what's happening?

I'm guessing if I can get my hands on 2 traps and set them right at the entrance to the den so they have no choice but to go in it might get them all?

I think I've seen this one, does the cat get ACME rocket roller-skates?

If you get the mom chances are you will get the little ones as well as long as you have a big enough trap to accommodate them. If not if you get the mom but not the little ones you will have to try and trap them. If they are still following mom there is a good chance they still don't spray yet so you could always just pick them up and put them in a box. I did that once and they will stomp there little feet at you but they don't spray. I was decked out in protective gear that I could get rid of just in case though. Also wear heavy gloves, they will bite.

You need to get some Magpies in your tree, and pit them against the skunks somehow.
