I think he was kind of looking at him thinking "What are you doing it's exhibition? I'm not going to fight you little man". Domi wanted him to engage him and he didn't so he sucker punched him. It's just not something we need in this league anymore.
Yeah I understand that. I'm just saying Ekblad has to realize there is the potential for that punch to come. Domi already gave him two glove shots to the face with his left hand. If anyone grabs my jersey or has me by the collar I'm getting ready to defend myself.
Domi is a fake tough guy that doesn't fair well at all in fights when he can't get the drop on the other guy.
Getting the jump has been a trend for this guy:
They should have given him some regular season games to make an example.
It's pretty frustrating to me that a guy who does something premeditated like this gets a slap on the wrist, and Cogliano who has been squeaky clean his entire career gets his ironman streak ended by suspension for a poor decision, but unintentional and ultimately harmless play.
They should stop hiring former goons to be the head of player safety. It's a joke.

Just watched the DoS video. It’s surreal. “Here are all of the reasons why this play should receive severe punishment. In summary, we will lightly punish him”.

If nothing else (because it means nothing else), Domi would now be considered a repeat offender if he does something like this again in the near future.

Wow, I did not know how big of a joke this guy had become in Arizona. Besides how late he comes in, he started those 3 fights over nonsense. That was a nothing hit, a hit he turned into, and a fight OEK started himself that he needed vengeance for.
I also don't know how anyone listens to an Arizona broadcast. Those guys were foaming at the mouth for all 3 of those, and talking about the fear of God Max Domi puts in people. Give me a break.

I like in the Garbutt fight how they were going on and on about the garbage hit on Ekman Larsson which looked pretty clean to me.

Yea, its odd that Ekblad was so slow get going, he was hacking at Domi the whole game and should have been ready. Still kinda dumb move by Domi but Ekblad will have to answer the bell next game, it will be a good game to see.
If a player slashes and crosschecks other players, he should be prepared to defend himself.
Did you see the video that included the "crosscheck" by Ekblad?
He basically glided into Domi.
Domi just has idiot anger issues. Selective ones. lol. He tried to jump Jordan Nolan once, when he couldn't get the drop he just clung on for dear life until the linesmen stepped in.
Yeah that's a terrible suspension, sends the message the league is OK with the behaviour.
Though I enjoyed watching Domi jump Vlasic and knockdown Kesler both of whom I hate, the behavior generally is not ok, he definitely is cheap and is going to have Haley chasing him around against Fla this year.
