Flames top players are pretty predictable with their performances now. The mix just isn't feeling right. I just don't see whats going to light them up to be better than the elite players other teams have.

Gidbranson looked awesome this game. Very surprisingly.

We might have trouble scoring this year.

Whenever the universe feels to chaotic and I need some order and structure in my life I can always count on the Brad Treliving Needs To Go thread being tops after a sad Flames loss.

*this is in no way an endorsement nor criticism of Tre and is not an invitation to discuss the merits of the GM here and now.

Expected touchdown against. Instead a McDavid hatrick, smith 45 saves.

Win??

This team does not have enough talents to beat the Oilers unfortunately. Move on and get points from other teams.

Playoffs here we come !

One.

- The amount of games it took me to see enough of SS Zadorov. Bad signing.

You know the Flames is in trouble when you notice McDavid’s grandma more than Monahan and Tkachuk

I thought Mangiapaine was really good but outside of that I didn't see much to get excited about. Lots of weak, sloppy play and a high number of soft, low percentage shots.

Backlund, Monahan and Gaudreau did not look good.

Controversial opinion: markstrom is an average goalie with as many bad nights as great nights.

can’t believe they let McDavid get a hat trick on the season opener.

It’s weird but my gaf is so low for this team and hockey in general this season it doesn’t even hurt

**** McDingus. He was the difference in the game. Edmonton got favourable calls and a few lucky bounces, but they capitalized on them and we didn’t.

Johnny tried but can’t do it all himself. Lindholm scored and was a demon in the circle but was quiet otherwise. Monahan is a shell of his former self and Tkachuk was invisible. I loved the compete level and I do think this team can be fixed, but there is currently too much money tied up in players who aren’t difference makers.

I thought the Flames outplayed the Oilers. Flames had more scoring chances, more high danger chances and an xgf% of 52.3%.

Unlucky bounces lost this game.

If the Flames play like that night in and night put they will be fine.

I also think Valimaki will be in the top 4 by the 20 game mark.
