Well according to hf oil:
Mcd has hit another level and is receiving predictions of 150 points this year
Rattie has now fully committed to hockey just this year and actually trained over the summer and is a different hockey player.
Pulju??? (What the hell is that????) Has put it all together and is a dominant force now.
And after 3 big preseason wins spirits have been lifted and the good ship oily is playoff bound and how far they go is anyones guess with how dominant their first line is.
All this after completely dominating the Jets ahl/b team.

Rinse and repeat.

Quote:
It’s taken forever for Edmonton Oilers expectations to begin to rise again following the large letdown from the big buildup the year before. But it seems to finally be happening now.

While the degree of difficulty has been minimal in their first three pre-season games, they’ve all been wins and the players the organization and the fan base have been looking to impress have done so.

It’s the seeing that’s the believing and some fans are beginning to think they’re seeing why GM Peter Chiarelli decided to bet on bounce back seasons and go with the developing young players.

The cry all off-season was to find a right-winger.

Thursday Ty Rattie scored two goal and three assists and now has four goals and three assists in two pre-season games. He’s definitely going to open the season with Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in Sweden.

Meanwhile, Jesse Puljujarvi, who scored the Oilers’ first goal last night, his second of the pre-season, looks like he’s matured by a bunch.

And Kailer Yamamoto, supposedly ear-marked for Bakersfield, hasn’t watched his stock drop either with two goals and two assists.

Thursday night a reasonable facsimile of the Oilers’ start-the-season NHL team defeated a less-than-prime-time edition of the Winnipeg Jets 7-3.

Last year, at this stage, it was all excitement. Not this year. But there’s definitely some brewing.

Just watched the 'hilites' of the game tonight.........wow, the Jets really brought their 'A' game, especially defensively. Lol, good job Oilers, what a game.

"It’s taken forever for Edmonton Oilers expectations to begin to rise again"????

Wow. It's September 20 and in their eyes that's "forever" for expectations to rise? I guess that's what happens to one's perspective when those same expectations crash and burn in the blink of an eye year after year.

No. Not even "the McDavid" can save the Edmonton Oilers.

No one can.

No one.

Like, I know it's the Sun but do they not employ an editor? How does unintelligible garbage like this get printed?

I don't think that was even Jets' B squad out there last night. More like a C squad.

I only recognized some of their third liners.

Yeah Tanev is a rotational player in their bottom six. Otherwise not much in the way of NHL regulars.

According to HFOil,’ it didn’t look like Connor was even trying last night”! AND HE STILL GOT 4 POINTS!!!!!

I think the NHL needs to cancel the season and award the cup to the Coilers right now, what a bunch of idiots!

Even Lucic notched one!

The Oilers are going to win the Cup now!

the best solution is that the Oilers don't make the playoffs because they really have 3 top 6 players and have Poolparty light it up going into his next contract.

If Pulju lights it up, that would put them at 4 top 6 players.

And not in the playoffs, and in a near impossible cap crunch.

You can’t make this stuff up, every year it’s the same exact crap.

I guess the Oilers forget that it’s just preseason.

I got a Score alert saying that McDavid was back in midseason form. I guess he did pretty good against a roster that I've heard of 3 players, plan the parade.

As in putting up points in meaningless games?
