I would wonder why the tax Authorities in Canada and the US would have any interest in making some sort of tax treaty with each other and the provinces/states which would effectively change the tax treatment of a very few select people.

This has nothing to do with the NHL.

Boy, I don’t think so. He hasn’t played a game yet in the NHL.

He's KHL's biggest star. He's getting paid. Only Stone is close to his level of talent on that Vegas team.

Edit: Perhaps a 1 year bridge deal might serve both team and player though.

Nobody really knows what exactly his level of talent is yet.

The KHL is a meaningless league. The two players behind Gusev in points last year were Nigel Dawes, who wasn’t much in the NHL, and Vadim Shipachyov, who could even crack the Vegas lineup.

KHL stats are worthless, Gusev has a ton to prove before he gets any kind of big contract.

Best blank not in the NHL has shown to mean nothing. There's no way the guy is going to get more than Karlsson. If you think he's getting as much as a player one-year removed from a 40 goal season, you're out to lunch.

He's offersheet protected, arbitration ineligible, RFA with no control. A show-me contract is what he's fighting for.

Kind of funny to see a team after their 2nd season already in cap trouble but the Knight's cap situation isn't really that big a deal.

They can clear the Clarkson money or use one of their many assets to help move him and even if trading Pacioretty or Stasny are still a damn good team.

You could never change the amount of tax the various governments receives

But you could probably change something on the players end to effectively equalize things and take away a tax advantage. Low tax players pay a higher percentage of escrow etc,

Because yeah, as I mentioned before players care about the money they actually get in their pocket at the end of the day as opposed to what their cap hit is, so all the teams in the league are effectively playing with different salary caps.

Trade us Tuch.

He's their 3rd best RWer and will be stuck down the depth charts for the foreseeable future.

When you compare it to the Jeff Skinner contract, it looks fantastic.
Stone is easily a top 3 RW in the NHL.

But you have a point. Compared to the rest of the contract on the team, it looks rather rich.

Overall, Vegas is in an okay spot. They just have to move a piece or two.

I know what you mean. I guess I’m saying they got out over their skis with that one whilst having other big contracts.

I'd be ok with this. Reeves would be an upgrade on Hathaway and it would be nice to get out of czarnik contract

But this would be assuming we trade brodie and frolik otherwise we cant afford 2.78 on Reeves and get a rw and a goalie
