Never thought i would see it again...but that was simply awesome and entirely satisfying.
Bethpage in a month should be more hyped than any tourney in years.

That was a great celebration. Not so much emotional, just joy. What a great golfer.
I’m not a Tiger guy but that was good. In sports it’s always a treat to get to witness greatness and Tiger has given us that.

The Gallery isn't as dramatic as it was for his win last year but he is as excited as he ever has been.

Is this not the most horribly awkward interview?

Tiger has always been a terrible interview. Not exactly Mr. Personsality.

I agree Tiger has never been a great interview, but what the hell was Nantz trying to do with those questions?

I think that's the stuffiness and arrogance of Augusta rearing its head. And then they put the jacket on him and he says "it fits". Ugh. I love seeing Tiger win the Master's but I've always had a love hate relationship with Augusta National itself.

It's all about that tradition (including not showing the entire tournament on TV despite it being a big money maker). Nantz isn't a very good interviewer either, this is pretty much the only interview he does every year, otherwise it's sideline reporters.

The cell phone ban at the Masters was way cooler than I thought it would be. Figured it wouldn't change much as a viewer but it was so cool to see a completely engaged and captivated crowd with undivided attention on the shots.
You don't realize how stupid and distracted everyone looks now a days until you see them without their phones. Most crowd shots these days just show dozens of idiots looking at the broadcast on their phones to see if they made it on TV then tapping their buddies and pointing with big grins.

Maybe Im naive, but it would be so easy for him to give more meaningful and inspiring responses that would make people idolize him even more. His press conf responses to questions like “what is your most inspiring sports story”, and “why was this Masters win so meaningful” were basically “uhhhh, I dunno”. He should pay someone to train him on giving meaningful answers. Say what you want about Phil, but he knows how to tell a story and talk to the media. Tiger only knows, and wants, to talk about technical golf.

Sometimes that stuff just can't be trained, some people are naturals in front of the camera and others will never be no matter how famous they become.
Tiger falls into the latter. Even when he went on Stephen Colbert with a full late night team creating a surefire, funny interview he still stumbled through it. Which tells me it's not a matter of not caring or not wanting to give good answers, he's just not comfortable in that setting and likely never will be.

I read on twitter that this Masters final day had the most high ranked players in contention of any major since the stats have been kept on rankings.
It really was a stacked leaderboard.

I know that the US open loves the idea of guys struggling like crazy to make par. But for my money a tournament like this was awesome. The Conditions allowed the players who made shots to still score low, and entertain the likes of us with shots that the casual golfer can only dream of. But the false fronts are still there where if a player missed a spot, he could still put up a high number.
I find it far more entertaining as a fan when the players can go on offence and attack the course trying to score. The US open where they play defence and try to prevent mistakes is boring as hell, even if it's a legitimate test of the players.

Augusta is set up though for a dramatic finish because the first three holes of the back nine are very tough, then the next four you can score anywhere from -2 to -6, then the last two holes can be gotten at with bravery, but they are not easy. So there's lots of room for a run (or a collapse). Augusta is also basically a regular tour stop, so guys know the course very well. US Open courses are usually not regular PGA courses (outside Pebble Beach pretty much), and a lot more depends on the weather too, just as much as the brutal conditions. The only time major golf sucks is when it's a blowout or Patrick Reed wins. Even when it's the US Open or Open Championship and guys are struggling for pars, there's drama because the scoreboard is constantly in flux.

Grew up watching tiger own the game. Awesome to see him back on top. I wish I watched it live yesterday.
That was utter perseverance. And he had very few believers among the pundits. Really satisfying to see. Having been facing my own adversity and witnessing the faith of people waver and overcoming that, this sort of thing is always inspiring.
