The only thing that looks odd is the half and half solid socks. Really odd, especially the green top half. Gradient socks would’ve been tough to produce, is my guess. But would blue on top and green on the bottom half look better?
And, the Oilers also did a semi reverse retro, swapping the original dark blue in the pants shoulder and gloves, for orange and white. Doesn’t look good at all, but it follows the theme of the Adidas program.
The Flames are one of the few teams who didn’t really follow the “rules” or theme of this Adidas program at all, clearly just wanting to force Blasty, as a black jersey and uniform as-is/was, back to the forefront. My guess is the next Adidas program, whatever theme it ends up being, most teams will be a bit tighter with the execution.
