I think John O'hurley would be an excellent host. I feel that he is very similar to Trebek in regards to mannerism and speech and he is very personable, a great story teller and would be excellent with the contestants.
Didn’t he just buy his best material off Kramer?

He would be good, but I think he's just to old. Isn't he pushing 70 already?
I'd like them to end up with someone who is young enough that they could go on a good long run as host.

The thing about this is that the person in question would basically be forfeiting the rest of their career. I dont know how much Jeopardy pays but would that be worth it?
Thats why an older person, or someone like LeVar Burton would be good choices. Because they dont have a whole helluva lot else going on.

I'm leaning hard to LeVar Burton. He has a long-standing reputation of respecting education and prioritizing literacy and hes actually quite eloquent. I think he'd do a great job, plus hes got a good few years left in him.
Ken Jennings would also be a good selection.
I guess I just dont want them to go 'off the board' with a new host. Unless its Samuel L. Jackson. I'll stand behind that decision.

Trebek was making about 10M per year and I think they only had to film 2 days every two weeks.

lots of time to do other stuff.
I believe you are correct. I know for certain it was 2 days every 2 weeks, I believe his salary was $10M.
If they go off the board, I don't want Samuel L. Jackson... I was them to stick to having a Canadian host, that just seems right.
Perhaps someone from Eastern Canada paying homage to Alex, but switch it up and have someone from an English province. Ontario would be too obvious, and New Brunswick is bilingual. So maybe someone from Nova Scotia? But they'd have to be able to say the French works like Trebek.
You know what? Fine... I'll do it

I could see them wanting someone under 60 at least and probably preferably under 50. Also, there will probably be some pressure to go with someone who isn't just another straight white man (something Alex himself even talked about).
A few people who have done Celebrity Jeopardy over the years who I could see being considered: Aisha Tyler, Wayne Brady, Neil Patrick Harris. Tyler just turned 50 and the other two are in their late-40s. They all have hosting experience.

I said from the moment I found out Alex had passed that they'll likely make Ken the host. In the event that Ken doesn't want to move to/commute to Los Angeles then Brad Rutter would be their next choice.
The guest host thing is a neat idea to work out who works and who doesn't.
Austin Rogers is someone who would likely do a good job as well, never thought of him.
Welp, I have soured on Jennings. I didn't know he was such a ass.
I think he's getting more heat for his support of his friend "bean dad" than he is for the old tweet.
Which is weird. The bean dad stuff seemed like something you’d see from Bill Burr or an edgy comedian. I didn’t see all of the original tweets, so it could have been nastier.
Jennings was just a cornucopia of unfunny, racist, misogynist garbage.
