Yeah too bad for Stroll but hopefully it is just some early season jitters.

And is it just me or do these cars look like 90s vintage CART Lola's?

Some things just don't change. Hopefully Lewis's bad starts continue and he's 5th or worse by turn 1 tomorrow. Ferraris look like they should give the Mercedes trouble this year.

It appears the field is more spread out as was predicted preseason. But I'm not sure that's always a bad thing. What matters is that we have battles for positions. Spread out is ok if there are tiers. Mercs and Ferrari for the lead. Red Bull might be on a bit of an island but hopefully Haas, Williams and Toro Rosso or even Renault can create an exciting battle in the midfield.

Excited to see if Stroll can battle his way up the grid tomorrow (tonight).

Just read that Renault had to abandon their 2017 MGU-K and revert to the 2016 version because of reliability issues. And they did it for the works and customer teams (renault, STR and RBR). Article also said they won't upgrade back to the new version until as late as Barcelona. That's a major blow to Red Bull's chances of fighting for podiums. The old version is less powerful and heavier putting all three teams at a significant disadvantage.

4 laps in and Vettel is still with Hamilton! It's a Christmas miracle!

Stroll looked like he had a good start. Made up a few places.

Nice to see Danny Ric get his car out here. We get a safety car or two and he could make up some places.

The Toro Rosso is so beautiful.

Stroll retired. Sounds like it's a car issue. He was having a decent day, up in 13th.

Geez with only 20 cars on the grid, after five retirements the track must seem kinda empty.

A Ferrari victory. Haven't said that in a while.

F1's problems aren't all fixed but this is a good start.

Tough to judge by one race, but there wasn't a lot of on track overtaking. Good for Bottas holding his own. Poor poor Ricciardo, nothing going right for him. The cars sure look fast though.

So Stroll qualifies 7 tenths back of Massa but still manages a top 10 start. Not bad.

Love to see the competition between the Merc and Ferrari. Hopefully we have another dogfight tonight/tomorrow.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the marshals take forever to get to crashed cars?

So this is huge news and kind of came out of nowhere. Fernando Alonso will miss the Monaco GP and instead race in the Indy 500. McLaren will team up with Andretti's team.

Does this mean we'll see Button racing in Monaco?

Just another reason why I am so glad Bernie is gone.

Also Bernie isn't afraid to be hilariously hypocritical.

He's looking at buying Interlagos and is now trying to campaign Liberty to lower race fees. Even though he was known to go to extreme measures to extort money out of promoters and governments.

Looks like Button is racing in Monaco...

So really, the only person who "retired" (I am counting Button's, even though it technically isn't a retirement) last season and is actually retired is Rosberg...
