Damn, I loved this guy. Funny as hell, Blazing Saddles would have to be my favourite.

I would have never have guessed that he was that old.
He was married to Gilda Radner for 5 years in the 1980s.

Scoring Winger
Made some solid flicks in the 70's and 80's. The ones with Pryor, especially (Stir Crazy was hilarious).
Peace, Gene.

That's a shame, he did make some hilarious movies, Young Frankenstein being one of my favourites.
RIP Gene

I always liked him and wished he didn't leave show business so long ago.

Norm!
One of the funniest men in movies at one time, I'm really fond of blazing saddles and its sad to see the the cast is slowly dying off now.
RIP Gene

What a wonderful talent. Actor, comedian, singer. Artist. He was so sincere in stuff like this that it was hard not to be inspired by him.
VIDEO
It was said by his nephew that he was an actor first and foremost who simply had a talent for comedy, but his knack for comedy came from a dark and serious place inside him. You can see that he doesn't skimp on portraying a character, even if it's a silly as Young Frankenstein or the like.
This is something I still quote all the time and keep the thought close to my heart. His delivery is so deadly serious that I weep every time I see it.
VIDEO
I've thoroughly enjoyed his work over the years, and I will miss him greatly. RIP you beautiful man.

If this weekend is as cold and rainy as the forecast predicts, a Wilder movie marathon will definitely be in order.

He kept things pretty low key in his later years. I will admit he was never one of my favourite comedians but I appreciated his work nontheless.
