The thing is, everyone needs a personal computer anyway. Why not make it a gaming computer? That's what made me go back to PC gaming. If you really prefer playing on a couch, PC gaming has come a long way with things like Steam Link or Nvidia Shield and you can play your PC on your TV.

I play on console and PC.
Consoles are nice because you can simply buy the system, turn it on pop in the CD or grab it quickly from an online store and just play a game in it's optimal setting.
Gaming PCs requires at least some knowledge of computers to properly spec out, get the settings optimized, set up Steam (or Origin or Uplay to add to the confusion). Plus most games require some personalized settings. It can be a real task for someone who's not keen on computers. And then I'm actually not sure if you can do split screen/shared screen multiplayer easily on PCs either.
