Default Copying Visio Diagram to a new Visio document

I have 3 maps made in Visio, in 2 separate files, I want to put them all in a single file to simply the updating procedure, as they use the same data source.

I have managed to insert the single map into the other file, as a Visio object, but then whenever I want to make changes to it, I need to open and refresh data for that object separately, which means there is no real difference between what I used to be doing.

I tried to copy and paste, but every object comes out terribly disfigured to the point where to fix it would be harder than making the object from scratch.

Figured it out.

The page set up was different between where I was trying to copy from and to. Metric to Imperial, among others. Setting everything the same and it worked fine.
