I would say greatly executed tank job , but they don’t even have their own pick

And they would have taken pole position to win the division with a win. Bucs have 49ers and Bengals next so those are guaranteed losses. Just a complete debacle for the Saints, which kind of sums up their season.

Oh this is who the Saints have been all year, hence my gripe earlier in the game about all the points Saints WRs were wasting that would come back to bite them late in the game. That entire night there was maybe a 2 minute span - from the Bucs punt with 8 mins left when Brady wanted to stay out there, to the Saints next punt at 6 mins left, where I thought the Saints may actually win the game. I could feel it coming haha, their loss to Cincinnati last month was essentially this same game. Its what they do.

Injuries and bad coaching, it's the 2022 Saints. I'm just glad that effectively eliminates them from the toilet bowl that is the NFC South divisional race so I can officially put this year's team to bed for good.

Currently the 5th overall pick in the draft. If the Bears or Rams can find a way to win a couple of games and move the Eagles up to #4, Will Anderson could theoretically be sitting there. As it stands, the Eagles should have their pick of Carter, Murphy, or Ringo.

An exceptional piece about Andrew Luck and why he walked away from football despite being better than probably 75% of the guys that are starting nowadays: https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/ins...alked-away-nfl

In my mind, one of the last great passing quarterbacks before everyone started throwing for 300 yards a game because you can’t touch quarterbacks (or receivers) anymore.

Reports out of Nashville are saying Vrabel made a power play and told the Titans it was either him or me. I remember at the draft how pissed he was when he found out about the AJ trade.

Rams get Baker. Smart of them because they'll get a comp pick if he doesn't re-sign, and they need picks obviously.

Well that's one more week that Rube won't collect on his bet! At one point I thought the Raiders might quit on McDaniels...but they have played hard these past few games.

I wonder if Mayfield will end up covering College Football. Not even three years ago he nearly best the Chiefs in the Division round. Now he's looking like competing for a backup job is the best offer he will get this offseason.

He’s right there with Jamarcus for modern era #1 bust QBs don’t you think? A precipitous fall from grace.

He's not even close to JaMarcus, JaMarcus is in a league of his own. JaMarcus never looked good, but Mayfield at least looked competent enough that there was a decent amount of belief he would get a second contract in Cleveland. But it's been a pretty quick slide to closer to career backup territory in only 14 months. But I suspect he'll get a deal somewhere to compete to start in the offseason, there are always more need for good QBs than there are good QBs available.

Also QBs from the pre-rookie cap era always seem like bigger flame-outs simply from the sheer amount of money they cost their teams. I think JaMarcus Russell's career earnings were around $40 million? Keeping in mind this was 2007, and the cap was just over $100M. That's an insane amount of money for a short-term player who was never good. At least Baker flashed at times.

Imagine winning the SB and still getting a top 5 pick in the draft. Could happen!

The Lions, Seahawks, and Eagles could all make the playoffs and pick top 5. I wonder if teams are going to adjust their value chart on the next year first round picks. A lot of teams have traded that next year first only to have it fall in the top 10 in the past couple of years.

Yeah some NFL version of "lottery protection" I imagine. Top 5/10 protection? Otherwise teams may start getting a lot more gun-shy about dishing out 1st round picks going forward, with all these recent and current warnings. I forgot about the Lions and Seahawks angle as well.

Mayfield playing with an injured left shoulder last year really screwed up his throwing mechanics. He was never a great passer, but he wasn't truly terrible until the injury.

Don’t play injured kids.

Especially not in the NFL where loyalty doesn’t exist

At least the Rams won a Superbowl but for Denver, ooof that trade looks bad.
