Succession (Spoilers thread)
I know there's argument if it's invaded the pop culture but surely it deserves a thread?
I'll spoiler tag the first post since I am in the eastern time zone.

I think Tom just wants Greg’s fellowship. He really doesn’t have much else.
It’s pretty likely that Tom orchestrated it, otherwise there isn’t really a reason why Logan would have just renegotiated the divorce terms right then without reason.
Roman’s comeuppance from Gerri was bittersweet. You can tell Roman is damaged and seeking love in weird ways, but Gerri shouldn’t have had to endure the boss’s son’s pervy behaviour.

It would pretty much invalidate the whole season if anyone other than Tom is the traitor, it's been trending that way all season so to put this on someone else now would be pretty curious writing. The only thing that worries me now is I really don't know where the show can go from here, that felt like the perfect series finale that would be impossible to top. But I guess we'll see what the writers have up their sleeves.

The only thing that feels off the the timing. Are we to believe that Logan managed to renegotiate the divorce deal with Caroline (on the day of her wedding) after Tom tipped him off while the Roy kids were driving to see him?
Wouldn't something like that take time to do?
And would Caroline really throw her kids under the bus for a London apartment?

With some suspension of belief, it makes sense for the show.
It appears to have taken the kids some time to get to Logan - judging by the change in time of day.
Logan could have offered more in the divorce deal than she was asking for to take away the supermajority route. Perhaps Logan gave Mr. Seat-Sniffer some assurances on getting him a cozy lordship?
It was shown in Shiv's conversations with her mom that she is clearly not a loving/fit mother. She would sell them down the river for a little bit more on her end (plus, it isnt like those kids arent set for life anyway).
Given the money involved, and my thoughts on big US law, some lawyer couldve had those terms drawn up in less than an hour on a Saturday afternoon in NYC - hell, it looked like they had about 20 in the room next door.

It invalidates Logan’s character if he needed a traitor.
I can see Tom telling Logan about it betraying Shiv but Logan would have had this outcome forseen when he started to sales process.

I don’t know if Logan had a sense prior to this that the kids wouldn’t have been okay with a sale.
Kendall definitely wanted out at least, so he was probably counting on him not getting involved, and Roman knew he would be set up. The only person who would be left out is Shiv.

He didn't need a traitor, he needed to win. That's all that has ever mattered to him in the show, no matter what the cost he has to win. Logan probably knew of the supermajority, but he also likely didn't fear it until he knew Shiv and Roman had joined Kendall. Even if you assume Logan would think they'd be against the deal, they'd still need to have Kendall join, and Kendall of course just asked to be bought out, so you wouldn't assume he'd want to block a buyout deal. And when Tom is talking "deal with the devil" with Greg, you know he's not talking about joining Kendall's side. After all, he just mentioned how Kendall always gets ####ed while Logan never does. I can sort of see the logic behind a "Tom didn't do it" take, but it would render a lot of the writing this season irrelevant. The Tom betrayal ending ties it all together extremely well.

The negotiations about the divorce settlement were already ongoing as well (the London flat), so in addition to the team of lawyers there, a team of lawyers were already working on it anyway, so making the deal for Peter the Seatsniffer's political career would have been a relatively easy thing to do at this point.

Control. You saw that in the earlier seasons with his weird, humiliating games.

I think it's also cover. He's lost to Matsson, but he can win vs. his kids.

Seeing Roman quivering before his father in that final scene was oddly both satisfying and unsettling.

I didn't realize it was the season finale already. Was hoping for more next week.
Pretty likely it was Tom who tipped off Logan. The sons don't have anyone close to them to even trust. My guess is Ewan, Greg's grandfather, will come in and help the kids somehow.

How did Tom get there so fast after Shiv called him?
