If you want a thicker sauce like sriracha, Marie Sharps is really good. Radically different flavour compared to sriracha, but a better one imo

My taste buds don't like it when I mix Asian hot sauces or Chili oils with non-Asian foods and vice versa. Can't have Sriracha or Chinese Chili oils with tacos and hot dogs and could never use South American or American hot sauces on fried rice or soup noodles.

Also like El Yucateco:
Once again, good flavor but not overpowering. Both Yucatan and Nando's are available in a variety of flavors, so you can pick a favorite depending on the flavor profile you want. You can get large bottles of Nando's at Costco.
I really like the Callypso sauce too, but it does have a pretty strong, almost fruit, flavor:
A friend's wife just came out with her own hot sauce, that's selling really well. Obviously more specialized, with a more unique flavor profile:

I've been hunting for this forever, i can't find it in Canada.
I wonder if one of those might be a substitute

This stuff will knock your socks off. Be very careful! But very awesome in noodles, rice, stir fries, hot dogs...

The Calypso sauce would potentially be the only thing close to that. It's quite sweet. Never tried Delish, so can't really compare.

Delish, isn't sweet it is a mustard/vinegar based hot sauce.
And I've yet to find anything close to it.
It makes me sad.

Supposedly a shortage of Huy Fong these days.... Drought in Mexico has affected their chili pepper crops.

If you had the sauce pre-pandemic, and now it tastes different. It wasn't the drought that caused the issues. They screwed over and negotiated in bad faith with their 30 year exclusive supplier of their specific breed of chili peppers. They rightfully got sued, lost, and had their entire US supply chain get destroyed. Now no farmers in the US would work with them afterwards and Huy Fong is forced to source their peppers from Mexico, which is an entirely different breed that has a different, inferior taste. They're getting hammered now by the Mexican drought too because of their mistake. I'd rather use Lee Kum Kee if anything nowadays.

I didn’t know the backstory. I had just started preferring the Lee Kum Kee in recent years.

Side note, Huy Fong is named after the refugee boat that the founder took to escape Vietnam.
This is the same boat that Ke Huy Quan (Short Round) was on.
