Default Amazon deliveries by drone

Not quite flying cars, but sounds like there is a legitimate shot that we'll get to see something pretty futuristic in the next few years. I hope this happens

In the not-too-distant future, Amazon deliveries could come by air directly to your doorstep.
The online mega-retailer unveiled plans on Sunday for a new delivery service called Prime Air, which uses unmanned aerial vehicles -- or drones -- that look like toy helicopters.

Canadian amazon sucks. prices not much different than local retailers. usually more expensive when you factor in shipping charge.

Every time I order from American amazon it ships from Honduras or the Philippines and I don't see my item until 2 months later. don't know how a 10 mile radius drone will help that.

Man, interesting but I wonder how many deliveries would get lost in a day like today? Yeah, I assume they wouldn't head off in 60 kmph wind and snow storms.

Sounds cool, but not sure if the idea is all that safe or secure. Pretty easy way to drop a bomb if these things become so available that pizza and lobster shops can use them (yeah, not real).

As if birds lives weren't confusing enough these days

And potentially profitable! Could shoot down a USB cable, could shoot down a really expensive watch or jewelry.

I don't see this service being too popular in the Middle East. Drones have a bad rap.

My dog goes nuts when I fly my cheapo little helicopter around, and would do anything to catch it. I can just imagine if this thing landed in the yard of some with a big dog, and it caught the thing.

As for the skeet shooting thing... You order a 2 dollar cable or something as a test to figure out the flight path to your house. Next order, a Tag Heuer, shoot it down somewhere along the path, and claim it never arrived. And without a doubt people would try to down these things for sport.

Way too many things to go wrong, I can't see this being viable.

I can't see it being too popular with certain segments of the US population either. The tinfoil hatheads must be crapping. I should log in to the Tea Party community and see if they're dropping bricks over this.
