Ideally, if there were still access along the west side of the river by the dog park and Lafarge Plant then up the Diamond Cove hill I would take that again. I'm not sure if there was enough river bank left to even create a makeshift dirt trail.

It would be nice if the city could repair the few trouble spots that are short-circuiting the Bow River pathway.
Mountain Bikers could deal with this but it's tough for a road bike. Tried to bike from Downtown to Deerfoot Meadows (IKEA) last weekend:

You can still ride the whole way if you aren't on a road bike. I made it through many times last year but walked my bike through the more dangerous areas.

Hey guys, Here is a question about my next purchase;
How much of a discount would you expect to get from your LBS if you where going to purchase 2 bikes at $3500 total for both?
would you expect discount on gear / accessories?

Hack&Lube, those are the parts when you pretend you're in a cyclocross race, dismount and run with your bike on your shoulder. Upper body workout, too.

Hopefully they can fix those areas in May before the water levels get high again in June. Now is the ideal time to do it, I would think.

I actually don't mind this part so much. The part I hated was the underpass under the CP rail bridge where there is a giant moat of disgusting watery mud that is unavoidable. I spent 10 minutes picking mud out of my cleats because it solidified into all the nooks and my shoes wouldn't work in my pedals anymore.

Kindred spirits my friend. As mentioned earlier in this thread, this was a most unenjoyable ride.

Spent about this much last spring at cycle path on Macleod, and we were given a discount of 15% to 25% (don't recall which) on stuff for a month. They extended it by a couple of weeks. Also earned some type of reward points and wound up getting a garmin gps unit for my rig for "free".
I have Ben happy wit their service.....but I'd imagine that somewhere someone will talk about how hard this LBS sucks or blows.....

I ended up squeezing only %5 off, but we are now owners of a Scott Scale 950 and Scott Scale Contessa 700!

What is the pathway like between that bridge and the bird sanctuary?

I have a road bike and typically go on rides by myself (unfortunately very of my friends own bikes other than bar beaters), I would guess I average a speed of 20-25k on my rides. Is anyone interested in riding together or getting a group together and riding?

My boyfriend and I ride at a similar speed. When is a good time for you?? Maybe we can tack a beer on in the middle!! In Eau Claire or something.

First bike commute since the fall. My knees are as healed up as they're going to get. Felt pretty good. I'm sure the cold rain on the way home will suck but it beats being stuck in traffic.
