I wonder if Wayne ever lifted a weight during his career.
Why would he need to when his competition was ripe with chain smoking alcoholics.
On 'the coaches site' Keenan has a talk where he said the first thing he did as coach of the Blackhawks in the 80's was remove the ash trays installed in each locker in the locker room. It made me think. Health, let alone fitness, wasn't really on the radar until the 90's.

Well you heard them, the old power plant was an ancient gathering spot of native ancestors. "Iconic", as they so put it. Meaning it's probably the most important place in Edmonton. It's also important to accurately portray the city and not mislead potential tourists, and that photo does a fine job of just that. It should stay.
Poor Edmonton, if only they had that world-renowned summer or winter festival to really draw in travelers..
I guess they'll have to settle for only the next best thing: Iconic abandoned industrial buildings on swamps.

Edmonton tacking "international" before one of their little outdoor gatherings
doesn't mean it's known of on the other side of the globe.
And while that's a nice little tire/ego pumping article, some Edmontonian blogger with an inferiority complex posing as a Calgarian telling me otherwise doesn't say much lol.

"That friendly banter or “The battle of Alberta,” continues today in hockey, football and frankly anything else. As a Calgarian I should do the “we are better than them” bit but I can’t. Edmonton shines in ways that makes it an emerald surrounded by wheat fields and ranches."
*Translation* "The tourism board hired me to write this advertorial, so while I continue to live in Alberta's largest city I will strain credulity to say nice things about Edmonton's typical tropes":
· The Saskatchewan River Valley:
Quote:
"Edmonton has a ribbon of lush forest and parks meandering with the mighty North Saskatchewan River as it slices through the city."
CHECK
· The Legislature:
Quote:
"Okay, it’s true. I am jealous that Edmonton is the capital. They have the grand legislative buildings that I love visiting."
CHECK
· Festivals about which most people do not care:
Quote:
"The best part about Edmontonians is their love for the arts. They host so many festivals that the city is nicknamed the Festival City."
CHECK
· An enormously boring shopping mall:
Quote:
"I’d be in trouble if I didn’t mention WEM, as in the West Edmonton Mall. "

... And for good measure:
Quote:
"Edmonton is a scenic drive to Jasper National Park and Wood Buffalo National Park..."
A "scenic" 4 hour and 10 hour drive respectively. Hell, by that measure Calgary should start plugging "scenic drives" to the nearby summer lake destinations in central BC.
Edmonton is no good—even worse than this propaganda fluff piece.

Edmonton is so awesome that it takes almost 4 hours to get somewhere better.
No it doesnt. Only 3.

LOL, this instantly made me think of the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It takes place in West Covina California, by all means a nothing town, but they talk it up like it's amazing to live there. The big line being "it's only 2 hours from the beach", followed shortly by "well, 4 hours in traffic".
Edmonton is West Covina.
