Being in a fireteam is a much better experience than just going alone.

When you do the story missions in a fireteam it is much more balanced, and in freeroam (whatever you call it) it's nice to be able to communicate with your fireteam.

Some pics of Legendaries.
Found this one last night and the Pulse Rifle while playing some PVP.

End of game rewards are absolutely random as evidenced by PowerPlayoffs06 not so amazing score, yet getting the best loot.

Sounds like everyone is having a blast with this game. Even though I'm not the greatest at FPS, I may have to pick it up this weekend so i can join the CP party

I really hope the rumored eventual PC release is true and they let you transfer your character information over like what Rockstar is doing with GTA V. Half of my issue with the game is the subpar controls vs. mouse and keyboard, and the zoomed in FOV. Playing the multiplayer component on a PC would be much more fun I think

I've found a few of those missions...I can get in there and kill guys but I get stuck...it's like Groundhog Day, the dudes keep respawning and I kill them over and over...I have one where I had almost 200 kills, and I couldn't get on with the actual mission

So we just finished an epic Weekly Strike on Earth.

Took us 3+ hours. We died 250 times. I feel like I was put through a blender, lol.

Great game though, unbelievable how tough it was.

Holy crap. Did you guys get good items from doing that? I haven't tried strike yet.

We got three strange coins each. I looked it up, sounds like that's the reward the first time you do the strike for everyone.

Oh man, you posted that shameful result? I warned you I was no good at PVP! That purple just turned out to be a lame blue jacket almost identical to what I was already wearing. =(

The Weekly Heroic Strike was tough as balls. Took a lot of retries and strategy tweaks to get it done. Probably be a little less rough if we weren't bare minimum level to even attempt it. Kinda disappointed there was no rewards for anybody aside from the 3 Strange Coins.

Numerous engrams but not much else to show for it.

Game is getting hammered by critics. Average of 6.0 from Gamespot, Giant Bomb, and Polygon. That's really, really low for a game of this hype.

Metacritic average seems to be at 75ish so far. The 6 scores certainly seem more like the lower end of the spread so far.

I haven't had much of yet myself full game wise. While the numbers aren't stellar it seems like people are enjoying it well enough. Hopefully it has a longer lasting power than something like Titanfall - that thing fell off a cliff.

And heck it better last longer - they're hoping for 10 years out of this franchise!

If you had to play this like a reviewer I could see why. Blasting through the story missions by myself and doing a couple of crucible missions probably wouldn't be too exciting of an experience. The game shines in its co-op though.

Reviewers all lament the lack of content but Bungie is already adding game modes and levels. Stuff just opened up in the crucible. The first raid, which is a completely new type of PvE event, is opening up to high level players this weekend. Having a review out now almost seems unfair.

look at who the high scores are from though...some really odd ball sites

.it's and .fr's

The more well known reviewers are giving it low scores considering the hype

I don't think Bungie is getting enough praise for how smooth the launch has been.

For an online only game, they've put other games to shame.

The detail is unreal as well. Something you only see from Bungie these days (and Blizzard many years ago).

That is a fair point. I guess we'll have a better sample size as time goes on and reviewers have the proper time to actually play through the content.

That is very true, there hasn't been much hiccup at all in terms of online up time. And considering they launched on 4 different platforms all at once and with so many initial sales. . . impressive given what other games have done. Smooth launch all around.
