Justin Goldman from the Goalie Guild RAVES about Brossoit. I think his numbers have been pumped up by his defensive core on that team, but he's been lights-out during the playoffs.

I was able to watch the game tonight. I can't believe his flexibility and athleticism. I thought I was seeing flashes of Kipper in net.

Agreed, but praise from Justin says alot about where Brossoit's game is now and bodes well for the future. We'll take it!

Baertschi scores the insurance goal, Portland wins 4-1 and gets sent to their second straight WHL Finals.

And now they'll probably face Laurent Brossoit and the unbelievably stacked Edmonton Oil Kings.

Kane's a pretty good player. Hopefully he learns a thing or 2 from him.

It looks like Gaudreau is meeting up with some of undersized professional hockey players. His twitter feed also has him meeting with Nathan Gerbe.

Maybe he is trying to gain some insight on how to succeed in the NHL when you have the height disadvantage.

I'm sure it's so Kane can bum 20 cents off him at the end of the night.

Had the chance to chat with Bill Arnold and Johnny Gaudreau today. Should have my article up sometime tomorrow (or Thursday). Very nice kids.

Chuck Schwartz ‏ @UWChuckSchwartz
Badger captain @JohnRam55 has confirmed that he's returning to Wisconsin for his senior season. He's a Calgary Flames draft pick. #Badgers

not surprising. Hope he a) will have a good last college season, and b) won't pull a Schultz next year like his teammate ...

Good move by Ramage. Unfortunately, the Flames are too unsure whether he's ready for the NHL or not, so there probably won't be a spot for him in Calgary.

I know it's unfounded, but I'm worried that Ramage is going to just head to the open market...

Great article Freeway. You addressed something I've always wondered about: How do Arnold and Gaudreau get along?

The last paragraph says it all:

Quote:
“Hopefully we both get a chance to play for the Flames one day, and if we do, hopefully it’ll be together.” said Gaudreau. “It’s really something I’m thankful for, to have another guy on my team drafted to Calgary as well. It’s going to help me down the road.”
Kind of neat hearing that Arnold sold Gaudreau on Boston College after he de-committed. It's probably very good for their development that they have eachother on the team.

It was interesting to me to hear that the Flames' Development Camp was that influential on Gaudreau's preparedness for the NCAA. I would imagine playing against guys like Breen, Ferland, Holland, and Ramage would get you ready for playing against bigger guys haha.

Anyways, great article. I like the fresh perspective of talking to both of them together instead of an article on just one.

I cannot stress enough how good Timothy Clark at BC is as a media relations person. I was hoping to get one of them, maybe do two separate phoners. He had them together in the same room. It was easy as pie.

Also noteworthy, Flames prospects send Ron Sutter (the player development coach) a weekly e-mail update on their games, workouts, etc throughout the year.

Really good article, pretty cool how close they have become. I am looking forward to having both of them on the big squad in a few years.
