Default Hurricane Harvey & Irma

One of many near-disasters.

This tree is really huge; hard to tell from the photo.

In the end Talim turned hard right and had almost no impact in Taiwan, and is also not about to sex the mainland but rather has all the potential to seriously hate-bang Japan.

No wonder it's been so fresh and cool today in Shanghai. Beautiful mid-September.

And now there is Maria... About to hit Dominica & Guadelope as a category 3 or 4 and Puerto Rico as a 4 or 5.

Guess this thread should be called "2017 Hurricane Season" as this train keeps on rolling. You've gotta feel bad for those island as it's just one storm after another this year. Not much time to catch your breath.

Yesterday around this time they expected Maria to have around 100-120 mph winds. It's now at 160 mph. Yikes!

EDIT: Looks like Sluggo linked the auto updating image. You can see the current position on it.

Those northern shores of puetro/dominican/cuba just seem like poor places to settle. Hurricane hotbed.

Little island of St. Croix could get a direct hit from Maria (now 165 MPH) it's a day away and the weather already looks bad

Booked it last week. Have to go for work for a few weeks. Looks like it's missing a direct hit where I'm going (Santo Domingo). Should be some crazy winds though, no doubt.

So in mid July we moved from Kansas to Texas... Houston of course. Was a brilliant move on our part...

Our house got a little water damage from Harvey but nothing severe at all, however a lot of homes in my neighbourhood still have their guts sitting on the front lawn. We have a cattle ranch outside of Houston and we had no cattle drown but our neighbours weren't so lucky.

Traffic here suuuuuucks. And it's sooooooooooo hot.

Chatham, Ontario never looked so appealing.. lol

Hoping to never experience a hurricane again.. I'll take tornadoes in Kansas any day over this bs..

Absolutely ridiculous damage in Puerto Rico, infrastructure destroyed to a point of no power or running water for maybe months, an Island of 3.5 million people likely changed forever.

Some pics:
Spoiler!

I have a co worker whose has family in Dominica and has finally heard they are unhurt. Sadly, everything they have that wasn't destroyed, has now been stolen. There's no food or water, and "lots of people walking around with guns". Scary

Tropical Storm Nate will likely hit the Gulf Coast in the vicinity of New Orleans as a cat 1 storm early Sunday.
