It’s a really great setup by the producers. About time they contributed positively.

Finally caught up. That stinks about Bruce, dude was going full tilt when he cracked his head. As I was watching I cringed and thought to myself that he was so close as he dove under the first obstacle, then whammo on the second one!


My second (under protest) pick doesn’t seem to be that great of a player as well. I have no idea why she would play her shot in the dark during the first vote, just weird. I reckon I won’t be hoisting any titles during this season. Woof


Also I was equally surprised that Carson aligned himself with Carolyn. I thought for sure he would stick with Helen.


Couple of observations: the birthmark on the one woman looks like somebody painted a color swatch on a wall, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that before, it’s kinda neat.

Also Jason?, Jacob? Does he have a massive scar on his otherwise perfectly chiseled abs? Seems like there is a story there (that will be revealed in a piano backed flashback). They haven’t mentioned it yet, I bet he goes far.

Claire voted out, was she the worst Survivor? Never got involved at all until it was too late.

First Tribal Council she attends — GONE! And the thing that was used against her was the fact that she was being such a team player in being so agreeable in sitting out of challenges. As I wrote last week, I couldn't imagine showing up in Fiji to play Survivor and volunteering to sit out the first two — much less three — immunity challenges. That just seems to be the exact opposite of "digging deep" — which is why Jeff Probst very gently prodded her on the topic. But Claire was doing what she thought gave her team the best chance to avoid Tribal Council. And it was a strategy that worked for as long as Soka kept winning. But, unfortunately, their copying skills were simply not as strong as Tika's.

I think Claire was a dope of the highest order. You don’t sit out on consecutive challenges. Hell even the guy with the limp arm was swimming and digging. Buy the ticket take the ride! She didn’t even look dirty when she left.

I get the feeling she didn’t connect with many people either. It seems most of her reaction shots were of her rolling her eyes and such. Obviously editing however I think that was an easy vote for the tribe

The last few seasons we’ve had Erika, Maryanne and Gabler win. I don’t think any of them really played “big”, could see the argument for maryanne but I’ve been thinking the last few seasons the winner havent been the biggest players

After this week’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reward challenge (seriously, what was up with that editing?), three players head out on a journey that very quickly threw everyone’s plans into disarray. When Jaime, Carson and Josh arrive to the island, there’s no prisoner’s dilemma or bag of tricks. They each receive a free idol, as if they’ve passed GO and simply collected a valuable potential life-saver. But there is a catch, and it has nothing to do with losing one’s vote. Instead, each player found him- and herself returning to a brand new tribe!


THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN | Jeff asks Josh all about starting over in a new tribe, while Yam Yam says he doesn’t want to be school friends with Felicia anymore, which sure, must make some sort of sense in his head. It’s hard to tell whether this “drama” between Carolyn and Yam Yam is performative or real… maybe it’s a mix of both? (Carolyn does seem stressed out though. What do you think? World’s best actress or is she actually feeling attacked?) When it comes time to vote, Josh does play his idol, but he smartly and correctly plays it on himself. Two votes for Josh are voided out, while the remaining two votes (Carolyn’s included) are all it takes to send Sarah outta there. In her final words, she still thinks she’s joined “a special club of sad, sad people” who all went home with an idol in their pocket. Boy, is she in for a surprise!
