Wranglers continuing to audition goalies, likely in anticipation of a long playoff run, or ECHL depth for next season.

so was trying to gauge Poirier's season to date, turns out not bad not bad at all
https://www.quanthockey.com/ahl/en/p...efensemen.html
whether you sort by points or PPG you find him in good company (of course yes still with some duds and flops) but he's in the mix for sure . at least offensively. if the end of the season goes well he could end up pretty high up the list

Two goals for Phillips in the first period today ... heating up again at the right time.

Is there anywhere to listen to the game?

No, and it's a shame. I really hope 960 is able to pick up some Wrangler playoff broadcasts.

Coachella only has two games in hand now. I think it was six at one point. Looks like the Wranglers might run away with the division now...

Yup, I believe they went .500 in their stretch of 4 games in 5 nights.

How has Rubins looked? Some people say that he's a poor man's Zadorov (i.e. lots of tools, but questionable toolbox)

He has good hands and a dangerous shot, but not a tremendous skater. One of those guys you’ll barely notice all game and then see he had 2 goals and an assist. He has a bit of an edge to him, but it tends to show more after the whistle than during play.

You weren't kidding about the duds on that list, look at #29 when sorted by P/GP

In my limited viewings of Zary this year, mostly in camp, his skating actually looked pretty good- he'll never be a burner, but seeing him move like that was a HUGE sigh of relief, after watching him skate the few years prior. I don't think it's a detriment now at all, and good on the kid to put in the work to fix it.
This is another one that Scorpion can say more about...

I went to the Wranglers game last night. All 5 goals were kind of ugly. Wolf would want the two he gave up back as puck got thru him on the first one and second one was a bank shot.
Wranglers are a deep team that can play all their lines. I thought Meloche looked like their best defenseman in last nights game. Poirier has good offensive instincts but needs work in his own end. But players can learn that stuff.
Not sure what to make of Phillips. If he was a bit bigger he'd get a lot more NHL interest. Don't know what else he can do in the AHL. Could still have a nice career overseas as a minimum.
If Duehr and Pelletier end up down there for playoffs I hope they get some good playoff crowds. For what I paid for the tickets and the Concession prices they had yesterday, it was value that you can't beat.

Going to be all aboard the Wranglers playoff train if the Flames aren't able to catch the wildcard. Aside from soaking up the Oilers getting eliminated, I'll probably pretend the NHL playoffs don't exist.
I'd love to take in a playoff game and support the franchise.

Me too - I will be buying tickets for Wranglers playoff games, and will be convincing all my friends to do so. I hope the team gets a ton of people coming to support them, and I hope the Flames start marketing the #### out of their playoff run here soon.
