No, because it showed people trying to navigate some nightmarish subconscious trying to rescue someone who was fearing some monster that their mother was supposed to be trying to protect them from.
I don't know why they choose to waste potential like this...so next episode will all be about getting Picard out of jail. Maybe they can bust him free from a bus transfer, it's only a couple episodes since that story line. Presumably we are not going to see much more trecking to stars this season.

This has been total garbage. The guinan q scream was baffling.
Now imagine how bad this could get with the same writers and all of our old favorite characters coming back next season. It's going to be an endless parade of one line zingers with specific but tacky call backs and a b level season 1 style plot.

I know that canon wise I should expect literally nothing, but how the f could the El-Aurians have a "cold war" with the Q, beings that could snap them out of existence, yet get eliminated from existence by the borg? Nonsense.

I have to say, that was more or less the highlight of the show.
I only casually watched a little bit of Battlestar, but that actor just has an excellent presence and cadence, I really like him.
The rest of it? That was a mess.
Again, I echo the sentiments of others here, its a short-run limited series. Tighten it the hell up. If it was 'old school' Star Trek with ~26 episodes or something, alright, have a few bottle episodes and throw-aways, but not this.

It'd be better if Shat was driving the Cab so Trek Fans could spend years debating the changed time line that Kirk went back in time to save the whales, failed and got trapped in the past and became a cab driver. Chekov got traded back to the Soviet Union in a prisoner exchange and Uhura became a stripper made famous by her fan dance.

The show runners just continue to destroy Trek in new and interesting ways. With Discovery it was an absolute train wreck from the start. Just bad characters, awful stories and stupid dialogue. With Picard they start it with promise, and then just when you feel hope they, you guessed it, destroy it.

Because they're magic space imps? To be fair to canon, it has been established that Q takes a defensive posture when faced with Guinan. Picard S2 is still garbage though. The actress playing Guinan has nothing on Whoopi Goldberg.
