Good showing. Scoring doesn't appear to be the issue.
Playing the third period and penalty discipline has been the only real consistent issue all season. The pair of games against SJ was an outlier scoring wise.
Coronato eith 4g and 7pt in 5 games now. Hopefully they let him marinate for a bit in the A and this does wonders for his confidence. Maybe back up after Christmas.

I think Coronato coming the other way with Zary/Pospisil being recalled has helped manage the skill up front… but they have played some pretty bad teams since the callups have happened.
With an exception of their games against the Abbotsford Canucks (where they had their full lineup) the Moose, Gulls, Barracuda, and Eagles haven’t been great to start the season. In their only loss this year they only managed to score a single goal against a very bad Barracuda team.
I don’t know if the other posters in this thread would agree, but I would say they are extremely fortunate to be 8-1-1 to start the season.

They're beating the bad teams they're supposed to beat so I wouldn't call it lucky.
It also looks like some of the depth players were moved up into scoring roles and have taken the ball and run with it, which is a sign to me that they may be deeper than expected.
And yeah, they probably won't play at a .850 p% or whatever they're at right now all season but it's nice to know that with essentially the entire top line of last year recalled/playing elsewhere they are still full of scoring talent.
There’s never been a better time to deal a goalie for us.
Looks like Dansk is capable of handling the load on the farm, Wolf looked solid enough in his Flames debut this season, and some NHL teams seem to want to rejigger their goaltending.
If Markstrom gets hot, and keeps his play in montreal going for a bit of a hot streak, trade him!
And run with Dansk on the farm.
