Not necessarily. The flames are sitting with a glut of wingers. Glencross' value to the flames would be much lower than most teams, so even if he's asking for $3M I don't they could find common ground

Decent return
Specially once Glencross signs with Calgary again this summer.

Would have been nice to get a solid D prospect, but two picks is fine.
Not a terrible trade for the Caps either IMO. Not cheap but not bad.

Good luck to Curtis - all in all he was a good Flame.
Have to be happy with the return - especially in a year when the draft is considered to be fairly deep. Flames will have a well stocked prospect cupboard.

I wish roster space / cap space were infinite because to me Glencross as with Iginla and Regehr will always be a Calgary Flame. I am satisfied with the return though.
Hope we call up Sven Baertschi now and give him some top 9 time.

Decent return for Flames on Glencross. Wonder if Burke standing his ground on Cammalleri last year helped them get their price this time.

Maybe our 3rd, and keep Buffalos.

I don't think there's any room for him anymore at his position. Calgary has a glutton of young, on-the-verge LWs that can step into his role.
Might as well get a couple picks in a deep draft, especially when scouting appears to have become a sudden strength of this organization.

They should have kept him or gotten someone that could play right now.

I'm not sure anymore, I think Ferland and Poirier have impressed.

Well it appears the negative nannies were wrong on this one. A 2nd and a 3rd is a very solid return for what is arguably a bottom 6 forward.

[QUOTE=Rerun;5161142]I'm ecstatic!!!! Its way more than I thought we'd get. I would have been happy with a 3rd and a bag of used pucks.
Wow. Glencross is valuable and did so much for Calgary. And this is what you put as your final remarks.
The Caps found a great player both on and off the ice, and I wish Curtis the best as he goes for the Stanley Cup this year on a team that has a decent chance to do so. I think he'll fit well under Trotz' system.

Indeed, I was hoping that they could use Glen-X as a bargaining chip for Mike Green. Another Offensive defenseman, with Gio being on IR would be exactly what we'd need. not at all unhappy with this return though.

I wonder if the Flames will flip one or both of those picks for Jeff Petry.
