1-0 Heat after the 1st. Beauty goal by Kotalik, too bad he didn't score like that in Calgary!

I noticed Aaron Marvin isn't in the line up, any idea how his first couple outings went?

Brodie got way too cute with the puck and scored on Irving

Just got back from the game. Was really impressed with the Heat in the first two periods minus the first 5 of the first period. They really controlled the play and got most of the offensive chances. They started to sit back a bit in the third but were too much for Grand Rapids.

Standouts for me were Irving who had a pretty stellar game coming back from inury, Brodie who had three assists but also scored on our own goal and Kotalik who had a great goal and a few good chances.

I'm still disappointed with the attendance at the Heat games but I guess that's just the way it is...

Don't be, that was a very very very good attendance for a regular season Heat game with 4175. Normally it's between 3000 and 3500.

BTW, Brodie had his assist on MacMurchy's goal taken away and given to Sharp.

The Marlies aren't necessarily the team the Heat should be worrying about. They have to surpass the 5th seed team in the west division to ensure there isn't a crossover. That will be tough sledding. They're going to have to finish the season amazingly hot to qualify for the playoffs.

That's true. Somewhat of a funny rule though. Third paragraph down:
