If Gardiner is the roadblock, that's ridiculous. Brodie and Hammer are both better than what's out there right now. Things should be rolling.

I don’t get what the rush is. The Flames literally cannot afford to bring back the same team as last year. Trades are inevitable. And we are months away from the start of the season yet.

If you take Quine and Gillies out of the equation it’s roughly $11 mil (assuming Eat Bread and Dube make the opening night roster). There’s simply not enough to go around for all the RFAs that need signing.

One defenseman is on their way out for sure, and Frolik is probably as good as gone also. Just a matter of waiting for other chips to fall first.

Either way, they're playing a dangerous game. People worry about losing player for peanuts, them not creating a little space to defend against an offer sheet is egregious IMO.
