Default If Gulutzan was replaced, how should it happen?

We have a thread about whether GG is "a good coach" (fake news) or whether he is bad enough to be fired. For many of us, that debate has now been settled (on the side of he should be fired). Thus, the debate turns into "how should it happen":
  • When should he get the whack - should he get to ride out the season? Should it be it immediately? Should he be kept on until the Flames have hired the right coach? Or should the team let him go and use an internal interim option until they can come to terms with the right candidate?
  • Who is the right candidate for this team - Huska, Gelinas, Sutter, somone else? What kind of qualities do they need that GG lacked? Why is your candidate the right one for this team?

Interested in hearing your thoughts. Discuss...

Open your car door and yell "Here boy , who wants to go for a ride, who's a good coachy that wants to go for a ride?"

Then when he hopes in, make sure you roll your back window down so he can get lots of air, and take a drive out to the woods. When you get there, let him out of the car and pick up a stick and wave it in front of his face and say "Who wants to fetch a stick, who's a good boy" then fling the stick as far in the woods as you can and when he runs off, jump into your car and drive off while humming the song "Born Free"

Immediately, and the entire staff should follow.

The sooner we replace, the more games that are left to correct the ship.

If they're going to do it, this month would be ideal. There's the xmas break, as well as a 5 day period in january where they have no games and the new coach can get time with the team to workout any new strategy, etc.

If they lose tonight leave him on the side of the 401.

Secretly download the Uber app to his phone beforehand.

Meet Darryl Sutter in the morning at Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

In the middle of a game while we're getting destroyed by the other team.

Could be tonight even.

Why do we think that Darryl has any interest in coming back to coach here at all?

He's won his cups, he's a mega millionaire, what's his motivation to drop everything and run back to an organization that fired him.

I think its a pipe dream, I don't see GG getting fired during the season, especially since they really just replaced a coach not that long ago.

For the most part, when you fire a coach mid season, you're bringing in a interim coach probably from your current staff or from elsewhere in the organization and doing a proper search in the offseason.

Have him and Treliving at center ice. Then BT fires him McMahon style after which Kurt Angle's theme hits and the entire Dome starts chanting "You suck".

has there been any speculation about GG getting fired? I mean from reliable sources, not fans.

Just change all the Saddledome locks on him, turn off all the lights, pretend no one is inside, and hope he gets the message.

I think he is an underwhelming coach but I'm not convinced there is a better option out there.

Well there is one but he is still getting paid to by the Kings to chill in Viking, and who knows how he even feels about the ownership group that fired him.
