Watched Your Name tonight... wow. Probably the best animated film I've seen, including anything from Miyazaki.

Made in Abyss is incredible world building, and gets very dark. Looking forward to season 2.

Amazon Strike is done too, doesn't matter much for Canada since all their exclusive anime were already on Prime Video, but for the US they don't have to pay twice now.

What's up with all the good anime on Amazon anyway, Inuyashiki Last Hero was great, a few others in the top lists are on Amazon too.

It was really incredible. One of my favourite movies of 2017. I do wish it ended sadder, but I can live with the ending.

Food Wars season 3 was good. I was worried about it since Season 2 was kinda meh, but it definitely did a great job of pushing the story forward and is still entertaining.

Agreed with Photon on Recovery of an MMO Junkie. I really liked it!

Lol, Princess Principal has taught me that I should have been born as a fashion designer for spies in steampunk early 20th century. Mildly interesting anime, don't know if I'll finish it, but if I do it'll be more for the clothes.

Violet Evergarden should be on Netflix now. It's a pretty hyped up Kyoto Animation production and the teasers looked as high quality as you'd expect from them.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is quite good, too fanservice-y in some ways but the rest makes it easy to overlook.

But A Place Further Than the Universe is outstanding so far highly recommended.

Devilman Crybaby is, uh, different. The metaphysical part of it is kind of interesting but the execution is pretty weird. I probably would have thought it was awesome in my teens lol.

Finally got around to watching Your Name, I liked it but I think I like Summer Wars better as a movie still. But wow is Your Name gorgeous.

I saw Your Name back when it had it's mini theatrical run. First half was great but the late 'twist' was so dumb that it tarnished the rest of the movie for me.
Spoiler!

OMG!

Hopefully it's actually true HD, and not just an upscale or something.

Fate/Apocrypha was...something, I guess. It had some good moments, but it was very mediocre for the most part. The dub was merely alright, and outright screwed up some moments causing plenty of confusion.

A Place Further Than the Universe... oh man... one episode left but it's just the denouement I'm sure, how they ended that 2nd last episode, the whole thing building to that one moment. Best of the season IMO.

I've actually held out watching this series until they released it all so I can binge watch it. So definitely worth it to watch huh? I'm a big fan of slice of life anime shows, so this one's right up my alley I think.

Been watching Violet Evergarden on Netflix. It's pretty slow paced, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Looking forward to watching A Place Further Than the Universe now.

Finished B: The Beginning on Netflix. Seemed like a really cool concept at first but was let down in the second half due to some ridiculous plot points that made it difficult to follow.

A Place Further Than the Universe is definitely worth it.

Started watching Children of the Whales on Netflix, I like the world building but after 3 episodes I dunno I'm not engaged, I'll have to try again in a few weeks maybe.

Just finished binge watching A Place Further Than the Universe today. I think its my favourite anime of the season by far, probably favourite of any anime I've watched in the past year or more. Such a good show. Great characters, awesome soundtrack, and I actually found the pacing to be perfect.

I finished Violet Evergarden. I like the comment a friend of mine made when they said "good 10 episode show", because yeah...the start is extremely slow. It does really pick up though. Get ready for a strong emotional gut punch every episode though, cause it really goes hard on that. I needed a break after a couple episodes.

Persona 5 Anime is out, I didn't (and realistically won't) play the game so looking forward to it. I have no idea what's going on yet, but it sure has lots of style.
