Hader's very funny. But he cannot control his own laughter and breaks up constantly. And he makes others on the set laugh. Not a good trait for a professional actor. But it is entertaining to watch, that's for sure.
Arcade Fire was pretty bad, I thought. The first song was played on one chord, I'm pretty sure. Composing at its best. And the intent facial expressions while wearing gold foil outfits; seriously...
During the "Breaking Song" on the SNL 40th anniversary they make a joke that Bill fake's the breaks for laughs (2:00). He also has a reputation as being very disciplined and highly skilled, so I can believe he's a fake breaker.

Oops, yeah, I guess. Then no, I don't like Arcade Fire at all...

That was a pretty awful episode last night. I didn't like that host at all. Weekend Update was pretty good though.
Maaaaan don’t talk to me bout no awful episode. Keenan was awesome in everything, that was a great episode. Switcheroo (on at 10am Saturdays), lobster at a diner, plastic surgeon dude, way too dark drag queen waitress, that was gold sir. Gold!

I enjoyed that episode as well. Weekend Update was especially good, and Kate McKinnon's Laura Ingraham bit was great.
I liked the episode overall. Mulaney is very sharp, my kind of humour. For a writer, he was not bad as an actor in sketches too. I wonder why they gave him the host role; there's got to be some promoting agenda going on. Plastic surgeon sketch made me laugh out loud.
Jack White's performance on the other hand...

Pretty much every host is the host becaus of cross promotion. For Mulaney, I believe he’s got a new Netflix special coming out soon.
I liked it. It seems like when people here don't, I like it and vice versa. Having never seen Mulaney's stage show, I didn't know that he used some of the same material. If it was a repeat for me, I would have been annoyed, but as "new to me" material, I enjoyed it.

Yeah it was good live for sure. I've noticed that almost all comedians that host the show do this. But I still find it a bit annoying.

Yeah I can never guess if my feelings of the show will be the same general reaction here. I can never understand the love for Keenan Thompson. All his characters are the same voice and a different outfit.
