What's crazy is that being commish for the CFL for 7 years is one of the longest serving tenures in league history?
That says a lot there.

CFL commissioner is probably a thankless job as he works for rarely unified owners that like to conduct business under a cloud of secrecy. If you are an excellent business executive there's probably far better paying jobs that bering less scrutiny with it. Cohon is the gold standard and Ambrosie pales in comparison but to be fair, the pandemic was no-win for the CFL regardless of who's running it and combined with the US leagues, it's made recruitment more challenging today.
-The free agency direction the league has taken as there's so much turnover it's almost pointless to get overly attached to players.
-Whining to the government they needed money to survive during COVID and not opening their books was just comically bad.
-The global initiative was kind of silly and pointless.
-The Genius Sports rollout was an utter disaster and disgrace as for an entire season, the stats were broken. That's simply unacceptable in this day and age from any professional sport.
-Officiating is as bad as ever and nobody trusts the command center to get any call right.
-The CFL salary cap is a joke with teams exceeding it annually and now this marketing money loophole makes a mockery of cap.
-The Operations Cap is extremely short sighted from a league that's long been victim to recycling bad/mediocre coaches. The league needs more coaches, more young, bright minds, not the same old mediocre coaches.
I don't think he's left the game in terrible shape but I certainly think there's a lot that can be improved if they can find a savy businesman and the owners get out of their own way. Time will tell.

I also read that Saskatchewan would be interested if things don't go well in the playoffs for Harris.
There could be a number of options. Adams, Ford, MBT, Harris, Alexander, Dukes, Masoli, and Crum.

These are not good options outside of Adams. The rest are either the same old or just old and washed up.
Also getting a MBT or Harris you better have a succession plan in order and without Huff it’s beginning to feel like our scouting of US talent is very poor.
Wally, Roy and Huff we had is as good as it gets in terms of scouting and finding talent.

I didn't say they were good options, I can just see them being options as the CFL is a recycling league.

Oh I didn’t say you thought they are good options. That was just my commentary.

Dickenson will be back, in both roles, for 2025.

That was quick. Well, I hope there's a new QB under center next season.

I don't think Dave will be fired. He will have to give up the roles himself.
Not only do we need a QB, but we need a scheme change on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, even if the Stamps upgrade the QB position, it won't matter if the OL doesn't give him enough time to throw the ball. It just really highlights the need for a mobile QB which Jake Maier is not.

Even a mobile QG is probably getting sacked every other drive in Calgary with this team. It has been gutted since Hufnegal gave up the captain seats.

From 2008 when Huff came here the Stamps always had great offensive lines. Actually, both lines. Even when the "stars" walked in free agency and went to Toronto, he still was able to field great lines.
All of this highlights just how much we miss him and what a great mind he was. I remember Ted Hellard calling it a dream hire when they got Huff.
We also need to get better at the skill positions. I like Philpot and Begelton, but we need a more explosive WR with some size.
Team needs a lot of work. Making the playoffs is fun, but that was a 6-win team last year, the tear down should have started. Now sure how 6 wins got Dave to think this team was ready to take a step.

Fact check:
The Stamps gave up the fewest sacks in the CFL with 28 this season.

Well I'm glad the Stamps made the decision quickly and I'm not too heartbroken as firing Dickenson in no way guaranteed that a better coach would be incoming. I would hope to see some changes on his staff as this is back to back bad seasons and I don't think the issue is just the players.

Sacks don't tell the whole story. The QB's didn't get enough time to throw, and they didn't create any holes for the run game.

Yes the offensive line was not a team strength this season. It's one of many positions in need of upgrade. Dave has his work cut out for him and it will be interesting to see if the Stamps finally decide to participate in free agency and spend a little money. The player pipeline under Huff has dried up and clearly needs supplemental additions via free agency.

Just from my views what the team needs.
QB - That's a given, but Dave needs to bring in a better OC, that isn't just going to throw hitches all the time. Then we can decide on the QB to go after.
RB - I was pretty happy with the backs we've got.
Receivers - Except for Reggie we just seem to have a lot of posession guys, but we don't have that threat to stretch the field. A burner with hands would be a must
Oline and especially at tackle. But the problems with the line could be in the blocking scheme
Dline - WE need a killer in the Dline we don't have it.
Linebackers is getting older, time to refil
Seconday - I think there's potential there that needs aging.

Houston came as advertised. Thought having him and Roberson would be a good tandem, they had interceptions, but they also give up plays. My fear is they are stat fillers, and don't play to lock guys down.
Begelton and Philpot are 2 guys to build with, but we need a #1WR and a burner as you said. After 2 devastating leg injuries how good is Henry going to be?
