Quite pleased with that draw, and especially that away goal. It definitely wasn't a stunning performance, but I will say that the Cavalry substitutions were very well done and well timed.
I get annoyed a bit by Escalante's antics, but there is a benefit to having someone like that to get under the skin of other teams. He was getting stuck in, annoying Forge, drawing free kicks.
Definite penalty. Sloppy play in their own box by Forge and they paid the price.
And let's be honest - a little bit of handbags (as the English would say) at the end is probably good for the teams and for the league. I know that some people may not like it, but it is important to establish rivalries, villains, and story lines in the early days of this league. This sets the table nicely for next week, and should get a few more bums in the seats (although sadly even the slightly reduced prices are off the charts, so don't expect miracles on a weeknight) and a few more eyeballs on OneSoccer.
All in all, that's a positive trip to Hamilton. That away goal is really, really big.

I'm bringing six people with me on Tuesday. I hope to convert them to permanent Cavs fans, none of them have been to a game yet. This will be the right match to do so!

Apparently Borges started everything after the game with Malonga, and it escalated from there. Though I'm sure Borges was going after him for the above picture...

I think it would be hilarious if Tuesday's match ended 0-0 and the Cavs get through on that away goal! Extra salty Hamiltonians!

Jordan Brown claiming there was racism from the Forge head coach towards Cavalry players on his Instagram, hence the reaction. Backed up by Nathan Mavila in the following Tweet. I've heard reports from the family of one player and through some other channels as well that back it up.
If so, not okay.

Well I've been recruited along with 2 others to attend on the 11th. Chalk up 3 more first timers. Go Cavs!

Either that, or an outright boot stomping of 4-0 or something like that. Either way, I think Forge are now my least favorite CPL club. Bunch of league fixing whiners and clowns.

how does the tie break work if they draw 1-1 in Calgary next week? Calgary goes through on (potentially) less penalties?

An idea for the Footsoldiers, get a large FIFA/UEFA style “SAY NO TO RACISM” banner. It would be cool to call them out with a banner of sorts but I wonder if they’d not allow an accusatory type banner. The FIFA style banner would get the point across and show support for our boys (and hopefully be quite the talking point)

You, Shermanator and all the supporters need to get RIGHT under the skin of the Forge attackers and goalkeeper the entire game like ####ing Mountain Pine beetles. This is the game the fans really need to do their part and ....

Yep. Straight to penalty shootout (no extra time).
So if on Tuesday after 90':
Any Cavalry win = Cavalry through
0-0 = Cavalry through
1-1 = Penalty shootout
Any Forge win or draw with 2+ goals = dirty cheatin' league favourites get the Whitecaps as outlined in the CanPL inaugural wish list.
I think that Cavalry's stingy defence and home field advantage are reasons to be a tad optimistic, but it could be a scrappy, nasty affair. That's the wild card now, and I'm not sure who that favours.

E = NG. Apparently the Eddies are on the brink of not scoring for four consecutive games.
