Didn’t see any of the game but why was Markstrom playing? Seems like a no brainer to let Wolf get a stretch of games and help with his development.

Weird. Backlund and Coleman struggling without Mangiapane. Almost like Huberdeau is a black hole of possession and Mangiapane is a really good winger off both the rush and the cycle.

Miromanov with 25 minutes played tonight. Did not notice him at all, guess that’s a good thing for a defenceman?

Not seeing much of the “rover” d-man we were seeing earlier with the pinches. Wonder if he was told to slow it down/stay back more.

Nice to see Kuzmenko just showing elite-level skill out there. That's a trade chip for next season that should garner a good return if he continues showing what he has been since he came back from illness - or maybe he fits long-term. Either way, that will hopefully be a very nice predicament for Conroy to be in.

Not going to be upset by losses - they outweigh wins right now in the long-term health of this organization. Flames might end up having Ottawa pass them, and even Montreal. Doubtful that the Constantly Crappy Coyotes can stop being crappy enough to pass the Flames - 6pts back in the standings is huge with only 8 games left. Flames should finish between 6th and 8th last. I doubt that they will pass anyone with the way they are playing, even with an easy schedule.

These forgettable losses are insignificant as compared to being in the position of drafting a franchise centre, or a franchise #1 defencemen, or even guaranteeing as best as you can that Tij Iginla is still on the board if the Flames have him ranked that high.

I like Kuz. He’s an odd duck

There’s the whole talking to his helmet thing, then the cruise he does around the boards.

Second period, right before it starts, the Ducks are skating in their zone (Flames end) and he cruises slowly around the whole perimeter

Lots of talking to himself

Go, man, go

What's the minimum price you would have sold him for?

Great job Scorp! Looked like Pinder was just letting you go at times because you were so on point. Hope to see you on the show again soon.

The locker room would have had its heart broken if Markstrom didn't play.

Dickinson or Catton would be sooo nice.

Just need to drop 1-2 more spots.

Kuzmenko and Pospisil are fun to watch. Otherwise that was one of the most lifeless games I’ve seen in a long time. The Flames were unbelievably sloppy in the first and third. No passion aside from a select few players. I get that it’s late in the season and they’re out of the race but come on, play with some pride at least.

Conroy has his work cut out for him.

Pospisil has been far and away the most interesting Flame this season.

Fun show. I'm still so stuffed up from a cold I've been dealing with so I felt like I was tripping over my words a bit but I'm glad Ryan and I went long, it was great.

Can't wait for the lottery

What does Dickinson bring that Buium doesn't aside from size?

You did a great job man, some nice points and a good flow. Didn’t know that was you until I just read this.

Plus he's making like 4.5 million? More than last year. Huge pay raise and less production. Awesome.

I think you're being more self-conscious about it than you need to be.

Besides, it's easy to trip over some words at the frankly torrid pace at which you two were exchanging information lol.

It was a great show. One of the few Afterburners I had a hard time turning off. You two gents might be even better together than I'd guessed!

Just an awesome all encompassing exchange of thoughtful points about the team.

a 2nd, and anything above that is a clear win.

Markstrom sank the BoA battle that we’d been waiting decades to see, and absolutely sewered an entire season in 22/23.

I will, as a fan of this team, never forgive Markstrom for that stretch of hockey.

I’m just not a fan of his. It may be the cut of his jib, it may be his dramatic faltering at the worst times imaginable…I can’t quite put my thumb on it, but I’m just not a fan.

…it’s probably the sideburns.

I haven’t truly believed in Markstrom since his meltdown in the WJC final against Canada.

He’s had a much better career than I’d have guessed back then, and he’s a capable NHL starter.

But he’s closer to Roman Turek than Miikka Kiprusoff.
