I like Marvel movies, but damn are they ever quick to 'reboot'. so far since they have started producing these things:
Spider-Man - (twice!)
Hulk - (kind of twice?)
Xmen- reboot, but now the reboot ties into the originals
Fantastic four
Punisher
Like cmon, there are so many awesome movies that could be done, Guardians of the Galaxy was a great surprise but I wanna see Carnage, Gambit (properly) Venom (also properly), Galactus...

We're getting a Channing Tatum Gambit. I kind of have faith in him pulling that one off actually. Even though I was perfectly happy with Wolverine Origins Gambit too. Only real bright spot in that disaster of a movie.
They really do need to do a good job with Venom and Carnage but those are two super villains that'll be tough to get right on film I think.
Galactus? Let's get silver surfer done properly first before that.

I believe as far as X-Men and Spider-Man go they have a 'use it or lose it' contract for the characters rights. If they don't use the characters within X amount of years, they default back to Marvel. That is what happened with Punisher.
So they will continue to reboot it and milk the cash cow until it runs dry.
Here is a popular image showing the film rights spoilered for size. Now Sony has Spider-Man linked with Marvel now on a tentative basis.
Spoiler!

It's also not Marvel doing the rebooting. Sony rebooted Spiderman and now that marvel is using him they want a different version to fit into their universe, understandably.
Hulk has only been rebooted once when Marvel made Incredible Hulk. That movie is still canon in their universe, just with a different actor.
None of the movies mention by Jbo were made by Marvel (say for the Incredible Hulk), they are not the ones rebooting them over and over again.
Honestly, as much as we'd all like to see Wolverine in the Avengers, I like what Fox has been doing with XMen, and it's so expansive on it's own, I'm cool with them keeping it if they keep doing things like DOFP.
So is Wolverine and like half the X-Men at one point or another
Fair point. I just know for whatever reason Marvel and Fox are sharing them. And Marvel wasn't allowed to say the word mutant, or imply Magneto's parentage. So I'm pretty sure Marvel even retconned (again) it in the comics too.

Off topic- I have a good friend who's daughter committed suicide and she is petitioning for the movie's name to be changed as she finds it offensive and hurtful.

this sort of explains it

If all mutants belong to Fox and all Avengers belong to Marvel Studios, what about mutants that are Avengers? Does that mean the studios have to work together? Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, says no. "There are only a handful of characters that occupy that middle ground," Feige said. "Iron Man is not going to show up over there [at Fox] and Magneto is not going to show up over here [at Marvel]. But there are a few gray points even after many years of negotiations … and that only happens with a character like Quicksilver, who has been a part of the X-Men, the son of Magneto in those comics, but also a primary Avenger."

Ridiculous... Is that what this country is becoming?
