He can play either wing position according to the Forecaster scouting report.

Rieder/Janko replacement, not a Ryan replacement.

What will he be able to show us on the 4th line playing with guys like Nordstrom and Rinaldo? He is a skill player and needs skilled players and minutes to produce, but he's not good enough to unseat anyone currently on our skill lines.

I like this deal. Cheap 4th line Rieder/Janko replacement.

I'll move Lucic to the 4th line, and have him on Bennett's wing or share centre responsibilities, or even have an option for Backlund's line.

Sorry about the duplicate thread. It's hard to tell with signings like this that come out of the blue whether sureLoss is online or not. I didn't at all mean to try and compete I just wanted to make sure that the news was posted.

Anywho I like this move. I've wanted to see more of Nordstrom for a while now, he's a player who I honestly don't know a lot about but his numbers look like a good fit for what the team is trying to do in the bottom six.

It isn't so difficult to dislike when you see he's not very good.

The Flames have finally made a move to address their seriously lacking position of Blackhawks Cup Winners.

With Versteeg, Brouwer, Bollig, and Frolik all gone, clearly a move had to be made.

So the Flames are just using the 4th line to bring in friend's our star players now? Don't hate it.

Ok, you've traded Ryan and now Lucic is on the 4th line. Who's centering it? That line is going to get absolutely railed 5 v 5

We need to get Wallmark... knock off of Walmart, yet the knock off would probably be better than the original!

He's got a ring and was in another final. A buddy of Versteeg.

To start the playoffs, Joakim Nordstrom decided he was going to hit anything that moves.

Leading all Bruins in hits (31 through 8 games) despite not being the biggest guy, Nordstrom has added some much needed sandpaper to the B’s bottom six.

However Nordstrom’s contribution to the team’s success doesn’t stop with his increased aggression, as he’s also been huge for the Bruins in his own end.

Nordstrom leads all Bruins forwards in shots blocked so far, has won a ton of puck battles in the corner, and has put in some solid minutes on the PK, helping Boston improve their kill rate steadily as the playoffs have gone on.

While blocked shots and hits may not be great metrics when considering possession, they served their purpose in regard to Nordstrom’s role on the team.

From Boston fans it seems like a good energy guy, lots of hustle and effort. Good depth signing.
