Question Best CD ripping software for PC?

I've got a decent collection of CDs that I want to rip to my computer. I have been trying to avoid iTunes, but Windows Media Player has confused all the artists and split up my albums. At least with iTunes, I remember that not being such an issue.

Does anyone have other suggestions? Or do I need to install iTunes?

I always just use iTunes, at least since about 2006 or so.

I am pretty sire WinAmp does it though, so that might be one of your best alternatives.

I use Easy CD-DA Extractor, best ripping and metadata tool I've come across

The best? Exact Audio Copy is hands down the best CD ripper, but it requires a little setup to get working.

Alternatively I would try Foobar2000. It's a great audio player too if you're looking for an alternative to iTunes.

I upgraded from EAC to dBpoweramp. dBpoweramp is fantastic and I highly recommend it but it costs money.
