How the heck do I check if my destination is correct if I don't know where the destination is?

All I had was the address and I put it in and it took me the wrong way. Not user error, just Apple errors.

You didn't know where in the city your destination was, but you knew it was on Fairmount Dr. A two second check would have shown it was sending you to the wrong location. Good thing it didn't route you into the Glenmore reservoir.

Nope. I'm just calling it like I see it. Since no one (even yourself) can replicate your issue it must be PEBCAK. Simple logic.

Every time I've used Apple maps, it's been spot on. It certainly hasn't been any less consistent than Google Maps was for most of the past three years.

Umm you make sure when you say fairmont drive it identifies a street called fairmont drive.

Sounds like this thread has the potential of becoming the "I hate Apple thread."

Rage on!

If you think that's amusing, you may find this hilarious.

Apple shedding two executives blamed for mapping, financial difficulties

I always wondered how people could get in accidents or end up in the middle of nowhere while blindly following GPS directions, but I guess I can see why now.

No matter what you're using, if you don't take minimal steps to ensure your destination and route are likely correct then you run the risk of getting lost or worse. I've gotten some ridiculous directions from Google Maps which would've sent me down a muddy, dead end farm road in Hawaii if I'd followed them to the letter, but I was able to avoid this because I verified the route by looking at the map and made the necessary corrections manually. No service is infallible.

I will never in my life buy another apple product again. How they released this pos is beyond me.

As soon as I'm eligible for an upgrade ill be switching over to Samsung. Eff you Apple for wasting my time in traffic.
You are so Beta that you got Alpha'd by a GPS map.

Every time I have used Maps it has worked. I love turn by turn. I have yet to get into an accident or lost because of it! I even turned down a wrong street and it corrected me. My iphone must be smarter than yours

Can a mod change the thread title to "I don't know how to use GPS, EAD".

An interesting related note here.

Jon Ivy is taking over for the iOS user interface. Would be nice to see an update to this as it hasn't changed in like 6 years.

Apple maps is already notorious for being incomplete and inaccurate. It gained this reputation on day ONE of its release. You should have just opened a browser window and used Google Maps instead. This is a bit like getting mad at a palm screwdriver for not being long enough while a standard length screwdriver sits in your toolbox ready to be used then swearing off the toolbox altogether because it was made by the same manufacturer as the palm screwdriver. So. Much. Drama.

Apple maps is useless. It doesn't find the bank across the street from my house. Clearly I don't need directions to it but it doesn't give me much confidence that if I do need to find a bank in another part of the city that it will actually find one.

I must be the most naive person on this thread, I thought this was about some new capability Apple products can do called "EAD". Took more more then a couple seconds... then I laughed at the possibility of that new capability.

Well I am trying to find the bank that I use, not just any bank.
